    Arik Air flight W3-304 made an emergency landing in Accra, Ghana, on March 6th.

    The plane was flying from Lagos, Nigeria, when the crew reported smoke in the cabin and declared an emergency.

    The Boeing 737, en-route from San Jose to San Diego was diverted after a warning light indicated smoke in the cargo hold.

    The plane landed uneventfully and all 75 passengers aboard remained safe.

    The airline arranged an alternate aircraft for the passengers.

    LATAM Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Cargo Smoke Indication

    LATAM Airlines flight JJ-8030 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on December 27th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Montevideo, Uruguay, was diverted due to a cargo smoke indication.

    The plane landed safely. All 220 people aboard remained unharmed.

    American Eagle Flight 3052 in Emergency Landing at DFW

    American eagleAmerican Eagle flight 3052 had to make an emergency landing at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on the afternoon of October 2.

    The pilot of the flight, en-route from Waco to DFW, declared emergency after smoke was discovered in the cabin.

    The plane landed uneventfully and all 47 passengers and 3 crew members were shifted to the terminal via buses.

    According to some reports, 3 passengers were treated for minor injuries.

    The cause of smoke is not known at the moment.

    Iberia Express Returns to Ireland due to Smoke in Cockpit

    IberiaIberia Express flight IB-3793 had to return and make a safe emergency landing at Dublin Airport, Dublin, Ireland, on August 12th.

    The plane en-route to Madrid, Spain, had to return shortly after the crew detected smoke in its cockpit.

    The plane landed successfully.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.

    Boeing Diverts with Smoke and Technical Problems to Santiago

    What: Air Europa Boeing 737-800 Tallinn to Tenerife
    Where: Santiago de Compostela
    When: Mar 15th 2012
    Why: While en route, the Boeing developed undisclosed technical problems.

    Pilots diverted to Santiago and made a safe landing.

    Whatever the problem was, it filled the back of the plane with smoke, and made a “roaring” sound as passengers disembarked in Santiago.

    A replacement jet was provided for the passengers.
