    Pilot Seriously Injured after Cessna Crashes in Valley County

    CessnaA Cessna 182 plane crashed off Big Creek Airstrip in Valley County, central Idaho, at 8:30 a.m. on June 29.

    The pilot, Jay Minor, 71, from Oregon, was the only person on board. He suffered multiple life threatening injuries and was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

    Other aircrafts in the area informed Arnold Aviation about the crash, who subsequently notified the Valley County Sheriff’s Office.

    According to the Valley County officials nine people have died in six aircraft crashes over the past year in the county.

  • Plane Crashes near Eklutna Alaska


    Who: home-built, Challenger 2 experimental airplane registered out of Wasilla
    Where: crashed into the trees just outside the village of Eklutna near some railroad tracks and a new gravel pit near Eklutna Alaska
    When: Friday
    Who: pilot
    Why: The plane was equipped with BRS ( a ballistic recovery system) which had not launched during the crash. The pilot was deceased when found.

    U.S. Air Force Plane Makes Emergency Landing in San Antonio

    A U.S. Air Force jet made an emergency landing at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland, Texas, on March 15th.

    The C-5M Super Galaxy cargo plane was returning from a training mission when the crew declared an emergency due to a landing gear malfunction.

    The plane landed on its nose. All eleven people aboard remained uninjured.

    What: vintage 1946 Taylorcraft BC12-D en route from Limington airport
    Where: field near Cape Monday Road, Harrison, Maine,
    40 miles northwest of Portland
    When: August 14 2010
    Who: 2 fatalities
    Why: The flight was reported lost when it did not return Saturday night. The wreckage was found 6 am Sunday. It appears that the pilot struck trees while attempting a field landing.

    Pilot George A. Fortin and passenger Anatole “Tony” Kalinuk were killed in the crash.

    Delta Attendant Injured Over Atlanta

    What: Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Managua to Atlanta,GA
    Where: Atlanta
    When: Jan 2nd 2012
    Who: 1 injured
    Why: On approach to Atlanta, the flight encountered turbulence. A flight attendant was injured about a quarter of an hour before landing. There’s no indication if the turbulence was due to weather or wake turbulence.

    Trainer and trainee crash near Pueblo Memorial Airport

    What: Diamond DA20 two-seat trainer aircraft owned by Doss Aviation
    Where: Near Pueblo Memorial Airport
    When: Noon Monday Sept 8 2008
    Who: Instructor/pilot and a trainee
    Why: The plane fell down a ravine and landed upside-down in a dry creek. A wing, the front landing gear and the engine had to be removed in order to extricate the trapped pilot. The trainee got out on his own
