    Why: About thirty minutes after taking off from Sana’a for Cairo, one of the jet’s engines exploded.

    The plane returned to Sana’a, and made a safe landing. No one aboard was reported as being injured. Passengers waited almost 3 hours for a replacement flight.

    U.S. Coast Guard Chopper Hit by Bird; Makes Safe Emergency Landing in Houston

    US Coast guardA helicopter, belonging to the U.S. Coast Guard, had to make an emergency landing in a parking lot in Houston, Texas, on January 22.

    The chopper had to be landed in emergency at a shopping center’s parking area, after a bird hit it. Authorities said the helicopter was flying over the Gulf of Mexico for checking on an unmanned platform at the time of incident.

    Four people were aboard at the time; all of them remained uninjured.

    Aeromar Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Mexico City

    Aeromar flight VW-240 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mexico City, Mexico, on December 22nd.

    The plane took off for Monclova, Mexico, but had to turn back due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Korean Air Plane’s Tyres Deflate during Roll out in South Korea

    korean airKorean Air flight KE-718’s both nose tyres deflated after landing at Jeju International Airport, Jeju City, South Korea, on July 29th.

    The Boeing 737-900 flying from Tokyo, Japan, had landed on Jeju’s runway when the incident occurred.

    All 148 passengers onboard disembarked safely.

    The aircraft is still on the ground since the occurrence.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on U.S. Highway 27

    A small plane made an emergency landing on U.S. highway 27, just north of Interstate 75, in Weston, Broward County, Florida, on January 24.

    The Cessna 172 was en-route from Palm Beach County to Key West when the pilot Arnaldo Santiago, of Palm Beach Gardens, noticed some issue in the plane and decided to land on the highway.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were three people aboard at the time; none of them were injured.

    British Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cabin

    British Airways flight BA-738 made an emergency landing in Geneva, Switzerland, on January 2nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Heathrow Airport, England, was on final approach to Geneva when the crew declared an emergency due to smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
