Small Plane Lands in Emergency in West Boca Raton
A twin engine prop plane made an emergency landing near the 7900 block of Palmetto Park Road in West Boca Raton, Florida, on February 28.
Authorities said the plane was headed to Pompano Beach when it experienced engine problems and had to land in emergency.
According to Albert Borroto, the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer, “The pilot did an excellent job landing on the canal bank, missing power lines and setting the aircraft down without hitting any surrounding populated areas and not injuring himself.”
Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing at BWI
Delta flight 772, en route from Atlanta to Providence, had to make an emergency landing at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport at around 10:30 p.m. on September 5.
The aircraft was diverted to BWI because of some mechanical problems.
The plane landed uneventfully and everyone aboard remained safe.
Several other flights were delayed from BWI because of the incident.
Air Asia X Plane Diverts to Australia after Bird Strike
Air Asia X flight D7-207 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Brisbane Airport, Queensland, Australia, on July 3rd.
The Airbus A330-300 flying from Coolangatta, Australia, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, had to divert due to bird strike resulting in engine problems.
The plane landed uneventfully.
All 345 passengers and 14 crew members aboard remained safe.
Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Cologne
Lufthansa flight GEC-8332 had to make an emergency landing in Cologne, Germany, on December 17th.
The plane heading from Frankfurt, Germany, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted after the crew noticed an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

What: Air Canada Airbus A319-100 en route from Victoria,BC to Toronto,ON
Where: Calgary
When: Jan 10th 2008
Who: 83 passengers and 5 crew
Why: Over Washington state, the Airbus which was following a UA Boeing at at least the minimum approved distance was subjected to an interim of wake turbulence which seriously injured 3 and caused minor injuries to 8. Findings on this 2008 event included the cause as wake turbulence. The event brings to question trolley and storage security and rudder control input.
