What: Air Canada Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300 en route from Kelowna,BC to Vancouver,BC Where: Vancouver When: Jul 19th 2010 Who: 52 people aboard Why: After making a safe landing at Vancouver, the Vancouver ground crew discovered evidence of a small fire and a fluid leak. Maintenance discovered a fuel line perforation, where the wiring harness abraded it, causing arcing and a small fire and a loose, leaking oil line fitting.

What: Cougar Helicopter’ Sikorsky Helibus (twin-turboshaft) en route to offshore Hibernia oil field to bring down two passengers and 14 were going to the Sea Rose oil platform Where: off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, in the Atlantic. When: Thursday morning March 12 Who: 18 people aboard Why: At 9:15 a.m., the Sikorsky pilot sent an SOS to Gander Newfoundland air traffic controllers. After the mayday, the helicopter ditched in the Atlantic. Two people were sighted but only one was recovered. Robert Decker, has been transported to St. John’s hospital. Searchers received signals from survival suits equipped with water-activiated locator beacons and integrated life vests.
The search has been hampered by a gale force warning. Visibility is 10 nautical miles.
Couger, Husky Energy and ExxonMobile have made statements to the press. The Hibernia oil platform is owned by ExxonMobil Canada, Chevron Canada Resources, Petro-Canada, Canada Hibernia Holding Corporation, Murphy Oil and StatoilHydro Canada Ltd.
The SeaRose oil platform in the White Rose oil and gas field is operated by Husky Energy and Petro-Canada.
What: Air Berlin Boeing 737-800 en route from Nuremberg to Dusseldorf Where: Nuremberg When: Jan 8th 2010 Who: 133 aboard Why: While taxiing to the runway prior to takeoff, the plane skidded off the paved surface of the runway. Passengers disembarked without further incident.

What: British Airways Boeing 747-400 en route from London to New York Where: London When: Oct 2 2010 Who: 296 aboard Why: The plane took off, spent eleven minutes in the air and returned to make a safe landing in London.
After takeoff, a warning light notified the crew that a door was not firmly closed.
Passengers were rebooked on an alternative flight. The problem in the plane was traced not to an open door but a sequence glitch which occurred when a door handle moved enough to set off an alarm, and was logistically unable to be secured.

What: Sky Airlines Boeing 737-400 en route from Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (Germany) to Antalya (Turkey) Where: Antalya on When: Oct 10th 2011 Who: 156 passengers and 6 crew Why: After a normal flight, on landing in Turkey, the plane’s right main gear collapsed when a right tire burst.
One cause for a burst tire is a hard or fast landing, or the state of the runway. The cause has not yet been determined.
In the accident photos (according to AV gossip), the logo has been painted out with white paint.

What: American Airlines Boeing 777 en route from London to Los Angeles Where: Iqaluit When: Sept 4, 2012 Who: 1 medical emergency Why: The flight was en route when one passenger developed a medical emergency. The flight made a safe landing and the passenger was taken to Qikiqtani General Hospital.
After spending 4 hours on the tarmac with the passengers all aboard, the 777 had to be inspected (for the overweight landing) before it continued to Los Angeles
