Andrew Wight, The fifty year old pilot was from Melbourne, writer-producer of the 3D movie “Sanctum” based on Wight’s near-death experience in an underwater cave.
Mike DeGruy, 60, of Santa Barbara, California, won multiple Emmy and British Academy of Film and Television Arts, or BAFTA, awards for cinematography. He was a specialist in underwater photography.
Four ATSB investigators will be investigating.

A tour helicopter made a crash landing, hit 2 vans, and caught fire in the parking area of Santa Barbara Municipal Golf Club in California, in the afternoon of May 5th.
The four-seater Robinson R-44 was returning to the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport after a tour, when it developed a mechanical problem.
All three people aboard sustained injuries.
The FAA is investigating.

The seventeen year old student pilot who took off with two friends on a late-night flight New Year’s Day 2013(10:30 p.m. Tuesday) and crashed in north Alabama, killing everyone aboard was not following regulations at the time of the crash.
17-year-old Jordan Seth Montgomery and 19-year-old Brandon Tyler Ary, both of Arley were passengers aboard the plane.
A student pilot “may not act as pilot in command of an aircraft that is carrying a passenger.” Student Pilot Jordan Ryan Smith was one test away from his pilot’s license, according to family members.
The airport says the student pilot was flying a plane he wasn’t rated on, without permission, in overcast weather.
The NTSB investigation is ongoing.

A helicopter operated by Reeder Flying Service based out of Twin Falls crashed in a hayfield near milepost 41 on highway 24, northwest of Paul, Idaho, shortly before 5:30 p.m. on June 29.
Sheriff Kevin Ellis of Lincoln County said that all three people aboard the helicopter suffered injuries of varied degrees. Two of the injured were taken to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello by air, while the third one was transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley by ambulance.
Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office, the fire department, and paramedics responded to the scene.
The FAA is looking into the cause of the crash.

What: Mesaba/Delta CRJ 200 en route from Minneapolis to Dayton Where: Dane County Regional Airport, Madison When: Jan 7 2011 Who: 40 passengers Why: While en route, the plane developed engine trouble.
One of the engines displayed an emergency warning and had to be shut down.
The pilot landed safely in Madison. Passengers disembarked normally.
