    Virgin Australia Flight Hits Turbulence Near Adelaide; Two Injured

    Virgin Australia flight VA-233 encountered severe turbulence near Adelaide, Australia, on September 13th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Melbourne, Australia, was descending toward Adelaide when it was hit by turbulence that injured two flight attendants.

    The plane landed safely. The injured flight attendants were taken to hospital.

    Ryanair Flight Suffers Bird Strike Near Henri Coanda International Airport

    Ryanair flight FR-435 suffered a bird strike on approach to Henri Coanda International Airport, Romania, on November 23rd.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Timisoara, Romania.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Where: New York
    When: Feb 21st 2010
    Why: Twenty minutes into the flight, the plane began to smell of smoke. The flight returned to JFK and made a safe landing.

    Iberia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brazil

    IberiaIberia Airlines flight IB-6012 had to make an emergency landing in Fortaleza, Brazil, on April 16th.

    The Airbus A330-200 was en-route from Montevideo, Uruguay, to Madrid, Spain, when the crew reported smoke in the cabin and requested an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely. All 253 passengers remained unhurt.

    Helicopter Crashes in Victoria

    In Trida, Victoria near Leongatha, on Feb 17, 2013, a helicopter went down, and caused a blackout.

    The pilot managed to land and survive the landing, in spite of the contact with power lines. There were no passengers aboard.

    Residents reported a loud bang to the police, who responded and found a crop dusting helicopter had clipped power lines and crashed around 5 pm Sunday between Allmans and Mottons roads.

    The pilot was uninjured although an air ambulance did respond to the scene of the crash.

    Hawaiian Airlines Flight Rejects Takeoff After Engine Failure

    Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-144 had to reject takeoff from Lihue, Hawaii, on November 3rd.

    The Boeing 717-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Honolulu, Hawaii, when the crew rejected takeoff due to an engine failure.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
