Why: Diverted due to a crack in the front windshield.
The only way to hurt big business is through the pocket book. When you hit them there, they eventually come around to doing what is right.
After this California wrongful death lawsuit verdict, my bet is that SDG&E will develop a belated conscience and will install safety devices or ball markers to help prevent this type of disaster.
So we are offering congratulations to the jurors for using their voices; and congratulations to the families. No amount of money is going to bring back those precious four lives, or ever ease the pain of their families, but, at the very least we can hope that the families will have some comfort that a small measure of justice has been served.
American Airlines flight AA-713 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 21st.
The Airbus A321-200 plane, heading from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Charlotte, North Carolina, was diverted after a windshield cracked due to bird strike.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 174 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
Turkish Airlines flight TK1530 made an emergency landing at Nuremberg Airport, Germany, on April 8.
The Airbus 321 was heading from Düsseldorf to Istanbul when its windshield began to crack. The pilots then immediately reported the situation and requested an emergency landing at the nearest airport.
The plane landed uneventfully and everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The aircraft was taken for repair.

Why: The plane made an emergency landing at Owen Roberts International Airport just before noon Saturday due to a cracked windshield.
CAL denies this was an emergency.
Update
Incorrect “emergency” status was released by Cuban air authorities after they had approved the flight’s precautionary descent over its airspace. The plane flew at a lower altitude because of the cracked windshield, and landed safely.
Air India flight AI-401 suffered a cracked windshield on the way to Kolkata, India, on August 13th.
The incident happened when the Boeing 787-800 plane was flying from Delhi, India.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Avianca flight AV-8464 encountered hail on the way to Bogota, Colombia, on January 27th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Cali, Colombia, was descending toward Bogota when it suffered hail strike which caused damage to windshields and the radome.
The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
