Why: While en route, the plane encountered turbulence. Several people were injured. The figure was originally released as 20 injuries and later rounded down to 18. One person suffered a broken leg.
A passenger was quoted saying that the plane…” jolted vehemently over Alaska twice or so about seven hours before its arrival. Many passengers were tossed from their seats, bumping into the ceiling.”
After encountering turbulence over Alaska, the flight continued on to land at Narita.
American Airlines flight AA-169 made an emergency landing in San Jose, California, on June 17th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane, heading from San Francisco, California, to Los Angeles, California, had to be diverted after it developed cabin pressure issue.
The plane landed safely. All 159 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.
Southwest Airlines flight WN-1426 made a safe landing following bird strikes in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 27th.
The Boeing 737-700 plane flying from Chicago Midway International Airport, Illinois, was on short final to Omaha when the crew reported bird strikes.
