    Taban Air Flight Returns to Mashhad due to Engine Problem

    Taban Air flight HH-6325 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mashhad, Iran, on October 14th.

    The plane took off for Tehran, Iran, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Helicopter Crashes into Pearl Harbor; 1 Critically Injured

    A Bell 206 helicopter crashed and sunk near the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, on February 18.

    The private helicopter went down while it was carrying five people, including the pilot and a family of four visiting from Canada.

    All five occupants of the aircraft survived the crash. However, one of them – a 16-year-old boy- was trapped underwater and had to be extricated from his seat. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

    Authorities believe the helicopter belongs to tour operator Genesis Aviation.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the cause of crash.

    Spicejet Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Kolkata after Tire Burst

    SpiceJetSpicejet flight SG 517 had to make an emergency landing in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, on March 1st.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane took off from Bangalore and was en-route to Kolkata when the runway inspection crew found tire debris and informed the pilots about tire burst. The pilots in turn requested emergency assistance on arrival in Kolkata.

    The plane landed safely. There were 211 passengers and 7 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Windshield Cracked Mid Air; American Airlines Flight Made Emergency Landing in Orlando

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines Flight 1610 made an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport, Florida, in the night of August 20.

    The decision for emergency landing was made after the windshield of the Boeing 737, heading from Miami to Toronto, cracked midair.

    The plane landed uneventfully and all 131 people aboard remained unharmed.

    An American Airlines representative said that their maintenance crew is trying to figure out the cause of the crack.

    The passengers were provided an alternate plane to resume their journey.

    Emergency Landing in Bahrain

    Forty-four passengers were aboard the Air India Express flight that made an emergency landing in Mumbai. The plane developed a “technical glitch” but landed safely.

    The passengers were provided an alternative flight.

    The Air India Express flight had been en route from Bahrain to Mangalore.

    When: Thursday Oct 1 2009
    Who: 207 passengers
    Why: Half an hour after takeoff, the fire alarm went off in the cockpit. The plane immediately returned to the airport, landing an hour after takeoff. Passengers debarked safely.

    The only heat maintenance found was hot brakes.
