    Safair Plane Returns for a Safe Landing in Cape Town

    SafairSafair flight FA-136 had to return and make an emergency landing at Cape Town International Airport, South Africa, on March 6.

    The Boeing 737-400, heading from Cape Town, to Port Elizabeth, was mid air when it had to return due to some issue with its air conditioning system.

    What: Indigo Delhi flight-6E 482 en route from Vadodara to Delhi
    Where: Vadodara
    When: Nov 1, 2011 at 10:30
    Why: The Indigo flight en route from Vadodara to Delhi had a bird strike right after takeoff, and had to return to Vadodara. The pilots managed a safe landing on soft tires.

    The flight was cancelled, and passengers were provided an alternative plane to take them to Delhi.

    Scandinavian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    Scandinavian Airlines flight SK-4743 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on May 29th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Oslo, Norway, to Brussels, Belgium, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Allegiant Air Plane Diverts to Orlando Sanford International Airport

    AllegiantAn Allegiant Air plane had to make an emergency landing at Orlando Sanford International Airport, Florida, on July 20.

    The plane took off from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport, Florida and was en-route to Memphis, Tennessee when a maintenance issue prompted the pilot to declare emergency.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Two US Airways Flights in Emergency Landing in Charlotte

    US AirwaysTwo US Airways flights made emergency landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, North Carolina, on October 11.

    In the first incident, flight 745, en-route from New York’s LaGuardia airport to Charlotte, declared emergency during descent shortly before 7 p.m., after the Airbus A320 developed a pressurization issue and oxygen masks got deployed. US Airways spokesman Matt Miller confirmed that the plane landed uneventfully and all 146 passengers and 5 crew members remained unhurt.

    Shortly afterwards, US Airways Express flight 5782, operated by Republic Airways, requested emergency landing at the airport. According to Miller, the Charlotte-bound Embraer 175 aircraft was coming from Greensboro, North Carolina, when a hydraulic problem was reported by the crew. The plane landed safely at about 7:45 p.m. and none of the 28 passengers and 4 crew members was injured.

    Travel Service Polska Flight Returns to Wroclaw due to Fuel System Problem
