    Royal Thai AF Skids Off Bangladesh Runway

    What: Royal Thai Air Force – RTAF ATR-72-212A
    Where: Bangladesh
    When: April 30, 2012 8:51
    Who: 7 crew 8 passengers
    Why: A Royal Thai Air Force ATR-72-212 sustained damage on landing in Bangladesh when it skidded 350 yards off the runway and into a concrete wall, damaging the cockpit and wings.

    Capt Wing Commander Chakkapol Hirranrattana, Wing Commander Surasak Sukbang and Flight Lt Pitchaya Burrangratchahirarun sustained minor injuries but everyone walked out of the plane. The plane has been judged a total loss.

    The investigation team is led by Flight Operation Inspector Squadron Leader (retd) Masud Akhtar Khan.

    Thai officials aboard are in the care of Dhaka’s Thai embassy.

    Kurmitola fire station’s said they rushed to the scene at 9:25 but “…airport authorities said that no help was required as the situation had been under control.”

    The flight has been described in the media as an official visit and a flight training mission under the command of Wing Commander Surasak Sukbang, Squadron 603 commander.

    TUI Airlines Netherlands Fight Diverts to Amsterdam

    TUI Airlines Netherlands flight OR-7688 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 2nd.

    The plane was flying from Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, to Warsaw, Poland, when the crew suspected a fuel leak and decided to divert.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Air Arabia Plane Returns to Ras Al Khaimah International Airport due to Medical Emergency

    Air Arabia flight G9824 had to return for an emergency landing at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, United Arab Emirates, on February 26th.

    The plane took off for Peshawar, Pakistan, but had to return shortly afterwards after a Pakistani passenger suffered a cardiac arrest.

    The plane landed safely. Authorities said the passenger died on his way to the hospital.

    Where: Liege
    When: Oct 9th 2009
    Who: 2 crew members
    Why: On approach, tire pressure sensors indicated a flat tire/tire failure. However, the flight landed safely without further problem.

    ExpressJet Flight Diverts to Louisiana After Hydraulic Failure

    ExpressJet flight EV-4114 had to divert for an emergency landing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on February 22nd.

    The plane flying from Houston, Texas, to Charleston, South Carolina, was diverted due to a hydraulic failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Aviation Safety Irony Emergency Landing

    At 3:35 p.m. Continental Airlines Flight 458 A320 en route from Houston to Washington diverted to New Orleans on Tuesday at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport where the pilots made a safe emergency landing with Ron Paul aboard. Paul Lampson, Ted Poe, John Carter, Solomon P. Ortiz, Ciro Rodriguez, and Henry Cuellar were also aboard.

    Ironically, the Texas congressmen were trying to get back to Washington to vote on an aviation safety bill.

    There were 120 aboard. An alternative flight was provided.
