    Royal Jordanian Airlines Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Medical Emergency

    Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJ-264 made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on October 7th.

    The plane heading from Chicago, Illinois, to Amman, Jordan, was diverted after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.

    The plane landed safely. The patient was taken to a hospital.

    Helicopter Emergency Landing in India

    On August 14, 2013, a Tej Airways Robinson R44 Raven II en route from Godhra to Amdavad ashram had to make an emergency landing at Chartoda graveyard in Gomtipu, near Ahmedabad, India.

    The helicopter had been chartered for Narayan Prem Sai by his father, Hindu Spiritual leader Asaram Babu.

    Four firetrucks and three ambulances responded to the scene.

    Two people were hospitalized.

    IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad

    IndiGo flight 6E-361 made an emergency landing in Ahmedabad, India, on September 19th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off from Mumbai, India, but burst a tire during departure.

    The crew continued to Ahmedabad and landed safely with emergency services on standby.

    Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    FLT 243 EXPERIENCED AN EXPLOSIVE DECOMPRESSION AND STRUCTURAL FAILURE AT FL240 WHILE ENROUTE FROM HILO, HI, TO HONOLULU, HI. APRX 18 FT OF CABIN SKIN AND STRUCTURE AFT OF THE CABIN ENTRANCE DOOR AND ABOVE THE PASSENGER FLOORLINE SEPARATED FROM THE ACFT. ONE FLT ATTENDANT WHO WAS STANDING IN THE AISLE WAS SWEPT OVERBOARD. THE FLT DIVERTED TO MAUI AND A LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. EXAMINATION OF THE ACFT REVEALED DISBONDING AND FATIGUE DAMAGE WHICH LED TO THE FAILURE OF THE LAP JOINT AT S-10L AND THE SEPARATION OF THE FUSELAGE UPPER SKIN BETWEEN STATIONS 360 AND 540.     Kingfisher Emergency Landing in Mumbai

    What: Kingfisher Airbus A320-200 en route from Hyderabad to Mumbai
    Where: Mumbai, India
    When: Oct 21 2010
    Who: 136 aboard
    Why: On final approach to Mumbai, the plane incurred a bird strike which struck the landing gear. The plane made a safe landing at Mumbai, although there was some damage to the plane. Everyone made it safely off the plane.

    Newspapers reported “bird was trapped inside the wheels of the plane.”

    Volotea Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Italy due to Gear Problem

    voloteaVolotea flight V7-1546 had to return and make an emergency landing at Falcone-Borsellino Airport, Palermo, Italy, on March 19.

    The Boeing 717-200, en-route from Palermo to Naples, Italy, was mid-air when the crew reported problem with the gear after retraction, prompting it to return.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 64 passengers onboard remained unharmed.
