    UPS Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Shannon Airport

    UPSUnited Parcel Service flight 213 had to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on September 25.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 plane, heading from Louisville, Kentucky to Cologne, Germany, was diverted after the pilots noticed issues with one of its three engines and had to shut it down.

    The plane landed safely. There were 6 crew members aboard at the time; none of them was hurt.

    The plane was taken for inspection.

    Allegiant Airlines Flight Returns to Orlando Sanford Airport After Bird Strike

    Allegiant Airlines flight G4-2292 returned to Orlando Sanford International Airport, Florida, on August 22nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Syracuse, New York, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Nepal Airlines Boeing Makes Emergency Landing in Kuala Lumpur

    A Nepal Airlines flight RA-416 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu had to return and make an emergency landing due to a technical issue.

    The Boeing 757 carrying around 54 people was on its way to Kathmandu when the pilots noticed vibration in the fan blade of its right engine. The Airline spokesperson, Ramhari Sharma, confirmed that the plane landed back in Kuala Lumpur about 45 minutes after it took off.

    None of the passengers and crew members were hurt.

    A Nepal Airlines official said “A technical team is arriving in Kuala Lumpur to fix the problem. We hope the aircraft would be released by Saturday evening and will probably start regular flights from Sunday.”

    British Airways Flight Returns to Alicante due to Landing Gear Issue

    British Airways flight BA-2631 made an emergency landing in Alicante, Spain, on September 18th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Gatwick Airport, England, but had to turn back due to an issue with the landing gear.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Small Plane Skids Off Runway at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport

    A 1978 Cessna aircraft skidded off the runway at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, Sarasota, Florida, on September 27.

    The plane was flying from Boca Raton when it skidded off upon landing at around 7 p.m.

    No one was injured in the accident.

    According to FAA records, the plane is registered to WSW Rental of Sarasota LLC on Longboat Key.

    What: Delta Boeing 767-300 en route from Salt Lake City to Paris
    Where: Salt Lake International Airport
    When: June 16, 2012. 7 pm
    Who: 198 aboard
    Why: On takeoff from salt Lake City, a left tire on the Delta flight blew. Pilots circled, performed a flyby and dumped fuel before they made a safe landing.

    The plane was examined in the hanger, and passengers returned home when the flight was cancelled.
