What: Cirrus SR-22 en route from Van Nuys to Parker, Arizona Where: one mile west of the Agua Dulce Airport When: October 21, 2010 Who: 3 fatalities Why: The plane circled before it emerged from clouds, at which time if flew upside down in an uncontrolled spiral. The plane crashed next to a barn a mile short of the airport, exploded on contact; and the remains of those on board are charred and spread across a large debris field. Two horses in the barn were killed, and one was injured but is expected to survive.
The plane was registered to OVATION MANAGEMENT INC.

What: Seair Seaplanes De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver Mk. 1 en route from Tofino to Vancouver Where: Lyall Harbour, British Columbia, Canada When: Nov 29 2009 4:10 p.m. Who: 8 aboard, 6 fatalities Why: After departing Lyall Harbour on Saturna Island, the flight crashed on departure. Two people—a male pilot and a female passenger— were rescued from the water. Rescuers had a difficult time dealing with near-zero visibility and strong currents
Fatalities included Vancouver doctor Kerry Telford Morrissey and her baby daughter, Sarah, and a California couple Richard Bruce Haskitt, 49, and Cindy Schafer, 44, with a cottage on Saturna, Catherine White-Holman, 55, of Vancouver; and Thomas Gordon Glenn, 60, of White Rock.
TSB investigators supervising the recovery are offering counseling to relatives, and recovery workers.
What: Manx2 leased from Flightline Swearingen SA-227BC Metro III en route from Belfast to Cork Where: Cork Airport, Ireland When: Feb 10, 2011 Who: 6 fatalities, 6 hospitalized (12 aboard) 10 passengers, 2 crew Why: The plane was on approach to Runway 17 in fog and low visability. The plane made a go-around. The pilot attempted a second landing on Runway 35. The flight made a second go-around; on the second approach to Runway 17 the aircraft crashed and flipped.
The plane is an 18-seater Fairchild Metroliner leased by Manx 2 with the flight number BPS 7100.
The Spanish pilot and his British co-pilot are among the fatalities; also, Pat Cullinan, a partner in KPMG from Omagh and worked in the Belfast office of the accountancy firm; businessman Brendan McAleese from Co Tyrone, who is is a first cousin of Dr Martin McAleese, husband of President Mary McAleese.
A public announcement said “three men from the North, two men resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, and a male Spanish national” were killed.
The six survivors (5 men and 1 woman) have been hospitalized at Cork University Hospital.

1015hrs 10 February 2011: Flight Avia No FLT400C a metroliner SW4 with ten passengers and two crew has crashed at Cork Airport. No details of injuries or fatalities are available. The aircraft made an approach to Runway 17 in low vis conditions (Category 2) and went around and did not land and attempted a second landing on Runway 35. The aircraft then went around a second time and came back for an approach to Runway 17. On the second approach to Runway 17 the aircraft crashed adjacent to Taxiway C. Rescue and Fire crew are in attendance. There is a fire and debris has been scattered onto the runway and over a wide area. The accident will be investigated by the Air Accident Unit of the Dept. of Transport. This is correct at this time and may be amended as more detail becomes available.
Ireland is conducting the investigation.

What: American Eagle Embraer ERJ-135 en route from Toronto to New York Where: Toronto When: Jun 6th 2010 Why: After takeoff, the plane developed a leak and shut down an engine. The flight diverted to Elmira where they made a safe landing minus one engine.

A small aircraft crash landed on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Griffins Farm Lane in Temple Bruer, near Wellingore, Lincolnshire United Kingdom.
The pilot had helped himself to get out of the plane before the Brant Broughton and Lincoln fire and rescue crews reached the site. He was then shifted to Lincoln County Hospital for checkup, although he did not appear to sustain any major injuries.
The fire fighters then disconnected the aircraft’s battery to make it safe.

What: 1980 Cessna 421 en route from Lantana airport Where: John Prince Park in Lake Worth When: December 8, 2012 Who: 1 fatality Why: The Cessna slammed into a stand of palm trees at 1:30 p.m. on the south shore of Square Lake, exploding at John Prince Park, west of Lake Worth, on Saturday afternoon. The pilot died in the impact.
The park is located between Palm Beach State College and Lantana airport. People who were at the park who witnessed the crash described the explosion and black smoke. THey immediately tried to help but the plane burst into flames.
The plane was registered to SDSEF Leasing of Miami Lakes.
Thirty minutes after impact, Palm Beach County sheriff’s cars and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue vehicles arrived and secured the area.
