    Pilot and Passenger Crashed On Mountain


    On December 19, 2012, a Stringer Welding Inc Beechcraft B100 King Air was en route to Libby Area Airport when it crashed in William’s Gulch, Swede Mountain, MT killing the pilot and a passenger.

    A witness living on Swede Mountain heard the plane when it impacted.

    National Transportation Security Board officials and Search and Rescue found the crashed plane heavily damaged after a difficult search in bad weather. Search and rescue members snow-mobiled into the area, used hand-held Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT) to find the wreckage. The beacon was found intact.

    The plane had been piloted by Carl Douglas, CEO of Stinger Welding Inc. The passenger was John Smith, a Stinger company driver. Their recovery is pending weather conditions.

    Chartered Flight Crashes in Paraná Brazil


    What: Táxi Aéreo Hercules Piper PA-31T2 Cheyenne II XL
    Where: Almirante Tamandaré, Paraná Brazil
    When: Nov 6, 2012
    Who: 4 aboard, 4 fatalities
    Why: The Táxi Aéreo Hercules Piper left Dourados for the Bacacheri Airport, in Curitiba with the pilot, copilot and two passengers. Táxi Aéreo operates out of Bacacheri Airport. The flight was chartered for Brinks and was carrying money.

    One security personnel named Wilmar survived the crash and was taken to Hospital do Trabalhador where he later died.

    The plane crashed fifteen miles short of its destination.

    Seripa (Serviço Regional de Investigação e Prevenção de Acidentes Aeronáuticos) is investigating. Currently no cause for the accident has been released.

    Cessna Crashes in the Front Yard of Granville County Home

    CessnaA Cessna 150 crashed in the front yard of a house in Granville County neighbourhood, North Carolina, late on August 28.

    The plane departed at 6:13 p.m. from Bowman Field in Louisville, Kentucky and was on its way to Elizabeth City Regional Airport in North Carolina, when it clipped some tress and went down in bushes in the front yard of the house at 3002 Krogen Court, Granville County.

    Raleigh-Durham International Airport officials reported that they were informed about a plane having problem at about 11:05 p.m., but the connection with the plane got lost. The wreckage of the plane was located at 12:30 a.m. Friday.

    The pilot was injured and was taken to Duke Hospital where his condition is believed to be stable.

    The residents of the house were sleeping at the time and did not hear any noise. The homeowner Ashley Bartlett said, “I don’t think the reality of it set in until we were leaving the scene and driving to the hotel. It could have been catastrophic.”

    The aircraft is registered to Ethan Leggett of Pewee Valley, Kentucky.

    The NTSB is investigating the cause of crash.

    Thompson Falls Crash Under Investigation

    A helicopter that went down in the Prospect Creek drainage outside of Thompson Falls ten miles up Prospect Creek road on July 27, 2013, suffered one fatality and two injured who were transported to the hospital.

    Two Bear Air 2 assisted in finding the downed helicopter.

    Search and Rescue, Forest Service and fire personnel responded to the scene. An air evacuation helicopter call was cancelled.

    Venezuela Crash Kills 6

    What: Cessna 340 A en route from El Vigia airfield in Merida state to San Antonio del Tachira
    Where: E Venezuela near Colombia
    When: Feb 23, 2010
    Who: 6 fatalities
    Why: The Premezclado Agroconcha plane carrying three well-known businessmen refueled at El Vigia. Outside the village of San Pedro del Rio, the plane crashed. Pilot Victor Correa and passengers Jesus Rojas, Efrain Rojas, Gonzalo Hidalgo, Rodolfo Betancourt and Ivan Martini were killed in the crash. The plane belongs to Maparca Corporation.
