Ryanair flight FF-655 made an emergency landing in Madrid, Spain, on February 14th.
The plane heading from Glasgow, Scotland, to Malaga, Spain, was diverted after a fight broke out between two passengers.
The plane landed safely. Police escorted out and detained one passenger.
Air New Zealand flight NZ-706 made an emergency landing in Auckland, New Zealand, on January 24th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane was flying from Sydney, Australia, when the first officer became unwell.
The captain continued the flight and landed safely. The first officer was taken to a hospital.
Middle East Airlines flight 213 made an emergency landing at Sofia airport in Bulgaria, on October 9th.
The plane flying from Beirut, Lebanon, to Geneva, Switzerland, was diverted after a passenger suffered heart attack.
The plane landed safely. The patient was rushed to hospital.
The flight resumed shortly afterwards.
Air Canada flight 623 made an emergency landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Nova Scotia, Canada, on January 8.
According to the airline, the pilot reported an “acrid odour” and requested an emergency landing back at the airport. The plane was heading to Toronto at the time.
The Embraer 190 regional jet landed safely.
All 66 passengers remained unhurt.
NextJet Airlines flight 2N-30 had to return and make an emergency landing in Sundsvall, Sweden, on November 14th.
The plane took off for Gothenburg, Sweden, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
A SkyWest flight, operating as a United Express, had to make an emergency landing at DuPage County Airport, Illinois, on October 20.
Flight 5290, carrying 44 passengers and 3 crew members, was heading from Asheville, North Carolina to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, when the crew reported problems in maintaining the altitude and taking right turns.
The Canadair regional jet CRJ-200 aircraft was then diverted to DuPage where it made a safe emergency landing. SkyWest spokesperson Marissa Snow said, “The flight landed safely and customers were transported to O’Hare.”
The incident remains under investigation by the FAA.

Why: After an emergency with an overheating hydraulic pump, the flight landed back at the Phoenix airport after 15 minutes; and (after 45 minutes of maintenance) was back in the air 1.5 hours behind schedule, but successfully en route to Seattle
