Bird-Hit KLM Flight Returns to Amsterdam
KLM Airlines flight KL-1681 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on November 1st.The Boeing 737-900 plane took off for Barcelona, Spain, but had to return immediately afterwards due to an engine failure caused by multiple bird strikes.

Parachute Flight Comes to Quick Halt

On Jan 14, 2013, six people—pilot Marcelo Rodríguez, two instructors and three parachutists—were aboard a Cessna 205 during a parachute flight in Punta el Este, Uraguay.When the engine lost power, the pilot made a forced landing and flipped. No fatalities were reported. The injured include Uruguayans, two Argentine women and one other. The injured were treated on the scene by mobile emergency units and then transferred to medical centers in Maldonado and Punta del Este.

Small Plane Crashed near Whiteman Airport, California
A small plane crashed in the middle of a street near Whiteman Airport, Pacoima, California, on February 22nd.
It is believed that the fixed-wing, single-engine Mooney aircraft suffered engine failure before it went down in the 10100 block of North San Fernando Road, clipping several cars.
No injuries were reported.
The incident is being investigated.

Plane lost in Washington
What: Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute twin engine Cessna 304 en route from Chehalis to Lewiston Idaho
Where: Packwood/Morton area, Southwest Washington
When: October 25, 2010
Who: pilot and 2 passengers
Why: A pilot en route to Lewiston Idaho told ATC that one of his engines was down. He reported he was diverting to Chehalis but transmission stopped. Radar contact was lost at 7:44 amA search is being conducted by a navy helicopter and a jet ranger. There is a weak beacon signal indicating the location.
Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Capital City Airport
A twin-engine Citation aircraft had to return and make an emergency landing at Capital City Airport in Fairview Township, York County, Pennsylvania, on September 19.
Authorities said the plane was near Chambersburg when one of its engines failed, prompting the pilot to turn around.
The plane landed safely.
Both people aboard remained unharmed.
