    Two Injured After a Plane Crash Lands on a Building in Vicksburg

    A small aircraft crash landed on the roof of a building in Vicksburg, after it experienced some technical issues.

    The plane crash landed on Friday, March 21, 2014, on the roof of Cooper Lighting building near the Vicksburg Municipal Airport. The passengers, a flight instructor, and a student sustained minor injuries.

    John Elfer, the director of Warren County Emergency Management Agency, says “It’s my understanding they were trying to get back to the airport when they were forced to land on the building.”

    The names of the instructor and the student have not been revealed.

    Two Killed in Oklahoma Plane Crash

    A small plane crashed in Caddo County, Oklahoma, on March 25th.

    Authorities said the plane heading from Odessa, Texas to El Reno, Oklahoma, was diverted to an airport in Hinton, Oklahoma, due to bad weather conditions.

    However, the plane could not make it to the airport and went down in a field south of Hydro, Oklahoma.

    There were two people aboard, including the pilot Walter Mullaney, 62, and his passenger Cesar Gomez, 27; both were killed in the crash.

    Piper Aircraft Crashes into Spokane River, Washington

    A small Piper PA46 aircraft crashed into the Spokane River, Washington on the afternoon of May 7.

    It is believed that the pilot was trying to make an emergency landing at the Felts Field, due to engine problems, but could not make it to the runway.

    Both people aboard the plane were killed in the crash. They were identified as Richard Runyon and Lyndon Amestoy.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Small Plane Crashes in Wisconsin; 2 Killed

    A small plane crashed in Peninsula State Park, Green Bay, Door County, Wisconsin, on September 18th.

    The Cessna 182 was carrying a pilot and a teenage flying student when it went down.

    Both people aboard were killed in the crash.

    The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

    Plane Crashes into Long Island Sound; 3 Rescued, 1 Missing

    A small plane crashed into Setauket Harbor, Long Island Sound, New York, on February 20.

    The Piper PA-28 was flying from Massachusetts when it lost engine power, prompting the pilots to make a crash-landing.

    There were four people aboard at the time, including the student pilot Austricio Ramirez who was flying the plane when it began experiencing issues, and the instructor pilot Nelson Gomez who took over the control afterwards and landed the plane in Setauket Harbor.

    Authorities said Ramirez, Gomez, and a third passenger Wady Perez were rescued by the officers. The fourth person, identified as 23-year-old Gerson Salmon-Negron, remains missing.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

    Experimental Crash in Brazil kills Deputy Mayor


    A small plane, an INPAER Explorer#PR-ZAL with three aboard was en route from Campos dos Amarais, Campinas to London but disappeared from radar while talking to ATC in Pirassununga Brazil at about ten on January 23rd. The experimental plane was registered but not certified, and barred from flying over populated areas.

    The Brazilian Air Force, Botucatu and São Manuel police forces were searching with a C-105 Amazonas, a H1 and an Eagle Helicopter, and found the remains of the passengers in dense forest, in a rugged area near Monte Alegre.

    The Squad of Campo Grande rescue team is on the scene.

    Locals who heard the failing engine, a roar and saw a flash of light in the woods notified authorities.

    The remains have been identified as:
    -Alderman and Deputy Mayor of Suzano (SP) Jessé Almeida,
    -Edson Geraldino, identified as owner of the plane.

    The identity of the third party, Rubens Geraldino, has not been confirmed by the family. The passengers (uncle and nephew) were from Mogi das Cruzes, SP, Brazil.
