Why: A mile from Tradewind airport, the plane as it banked over the buildings, turned sideways and shot straight down and crashed into Arctic Glacier Premium Ice warehouse. James Ziolkowski and William Runyan Ellett shared ownership of the plane. No explanation is given for the crash.

Iran Dassault Crash
On March 3 2014 a Dassault Falcon 20E operated by Iran Civil Aviation Organization was lost 2.5 miles E of Kish Island on what is described as “a calibration flight to test navigation equipment.” The four crew aboard the plane died in the crash. The Dassault Falcon 20 is a French jet built by Dassault Aviation. The “E” variation has higher thrust engines (General Electric CF700-2D-2), higher zero fuel weight.

Helicopter Crashes into Residential Building in Orlando; 3 Killed
A helicopter crashed into a building at 722 Alameda Drive, near Orlando Executive Airport in Orlando, Florida, at around 2:15 p.m. on March 22.Authorities said the Robinson R44 helicopter took off from Orlando Executive Airport but crashed shortly afterwards into a two-story garage apartment, sparking fire.
According to Orlando police Sgt. Wanda Ford, “We don’t know what caused the accident… We just know the helicopter did go inside the guest house and thankfully there were no residents inside.”
All 3 occupants of the aircraft were killed in the crash. They were identified as the pilot Bruce Teitelbaum, his wife Marsha Khan and a friend Harry Anderson.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
Crash | Dornier | Landing Gear | TaiwanDaily Air Plane Crash Lands in Taiwan After Co-Pilot Forgets to Deploy Landing Gear
A Dornier Do 228 aircraft landed on its belly and skidded some 700 feet before coming to halt at Taitung Airport in Taiwan, on December 21.The accident happened after the co-pilot forgot to deploy the landing gear while approaching the runway. The Daily Air pilots were simulating left-engine failure and emergency landings at the time, however, failure to lower the landing gear was not pre-planned.
The plane was carrying only the pilot and the co-pilot at the time; both of them remained unharmed.
Taiwan’s Aviation Safety Council is investigating.

Cargo Flight Crashes Van

What: Allied Air Boeing 727 en route from Lagos Nigeria to Accra
Where: Kotoka Airport, Hajj Village, Ghana
When: June 2, 2012 7 pm
Who: 10 fatalities, 4 survivors
Why: Flight DHV 111 was flying from Lagos when it touched down halfway down the runway in Accra and failed to stop at the end.

ATC may have advised pilots to divert to Abidjan because of the weather.
Police, military and fire as well as the coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation were on the scene.
The plane was considered totaled, with wing damage, separated tail and collapsed gear. The plane reportedly was Pan Am’s last revenue flight Dec 4, 1991.

Helicopter Down at Mammoth

What: Asplundh BELL 206B HELICOPTER helicopter crash
Where: Pole lake road southeast of Mammoth Lakes, near Deer Springs Road
When: Sept 19, 2012, 12:30
Who: 2 aboard
Why: Two Asplundh employees were working on power lines and crashed near the lake causing a small fire. They were taken to Mammoth Airport and ambulanced to Mammoth Hospital. They suffered minor injuries.According to the FAA preliminary report, the rotorcraft tail rot0r struck the ground and crashed 12 miles from Mammoth lakes California.
Mono County Sheriff’s Department, Mammoth Lakes Fire Department, Long Valley Fire Department, Cal Fire, U.S. Forest Service, and Mono County Paramedics responded to the scene.
