    Pegasus Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Germany

    Pegasus AirlinesPegasus Airlines flight PC-327 made an emergency landing in Stuttgart, Germany, on May 3rd.

    The plane, flying from Izmir, Turkey, declared an emergency due to an air-conditioning failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully after the crew initiated an emergency descent. The passenger oxygen masks were deployed.

    Vintage Crash in Chandler


    Pictured: North American P-51D Mustang; N514NH / 4484850/FF-850 (cn 124-44706) Former Apollo astronaut Frank Borman own this Mustang in the ’90s. Borman registered it as N15FS in August 1995 and named it Su Su. In it’s history this aircarft has carried the registrations N151TH, N850AH, N151BF, N151FS. Now it belongs to Hirani Oil in Chandler Arizona.

    What: (Hirani Oil Arizona) single-engine P-51D Mustang
    Where: Stellar Airpark in Chandler
    When: Thu Mar 11 1:20 p.m.
    Who: pilot Nazzi Hirani
    Why: On an attempt to land, the World War II-era plane appeared to be coming in to land too fast, hit a brick retaining wall, then flipped into the hanger, setting it afire and killing the pilot.

    * Although the Mustang was built by North American Aviation, it is the precursor of the Piper.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Minnesota after Lavatory Smoke Indication

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-1996 had to return and make an emergency landing at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Minnesota, on October 22nd.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-88 en-route to LaGuardia Airport, New York, had to return after the crew received indication of smoke in lavatory.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 149 passengers aboard were unhurt.

    The passengers were later provided a replacement plane.

    Saudi Arabian Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Egypt

    Saudi Arabian AirlinesSaudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-321 made an emergency landing in Cairo, Egypt, on November 1st.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, was on final approach to Cairo when the crew received a brakes fault indication and prepared for an emergency landing.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    VietJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Taipei

    VietJet flight VJ-861 made an emergency landing in Taipei, Taiwan, on December 24th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Seoul, South Korea, to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was diverted due to a cargo smoke indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Turbulence Always Possible: China Southern 9 Injured

    What: China Southern Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from Guangzhou to Shanghai
    Where: Guangzhou
    When: May 10th 2012
    Who: 9 injured
    Why: Twenty minutes after taking off from Guangzhou, the plane encountered clear air turbulence.

    Those who weren’t buckled in, including flight attendants, were injured during the turbulence. Injuries included fractures, and other injuries. The extent of the turbulence is being reported as “a pocket of extreme turbulence.”

    One passenger blogged “I had a horrible feeling that I was going to die at that moment because I suddenly felt being weightless.

    A flight attendant and her dining cart were tossed in the air.

    Pilots continued to Shanghai, where nine injured were transported to hospital facilities.

    The plane was grounded for inspection but later released for service.
