New Lion Air Boeing Carcass Cut in Two for Removal


The Lion Air jet that crashed short of the runway in Bali is going to be cut into pieces for removal since the plane is too heavy to tow.

The wreckage is sitting on top of a reef, rocking with the waves.

The cockpit voice recorder was recovered by navy divers.

None of the 101 passengers or seven crew were injured when the crew opted for a water landing. The pilot and co-pilot tested negative for drugs and alcohol

Lion Air AKA PT Lion Mentari Airlines is banned from flying in Europe because of its safety record.

    Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing

    Who: 400 aboard
    Why: The flight was en route from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia when a fire alarm went off, due, apparently, to a technical issue.

    The pilots made an emergency landing at NSC Bose International Airport. No injuries were reported.

    Why: The flight was en route when a problem developed with the fuel. Pilots diverted to Brisbane and made a safe landing. Emergency services met the plane on the tarmac. Virgin’s public statement said the problem was a minor maintenance issue.

    The football team won against the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday night but ended up stranded in Brisbane. The spokesman for Essedon said “There was definitely no emergency. It’s probably been overplayed a bit.”

    The flight was cancelled.

    Air Algerie Plane Returns to Algeria due to Fuel Filter Contamination

    Air AlgerieAir Algerie flight AH-1020 had to return and make a precautionary landing at Algiers International Airport, Algiers, Algeria, on August 6th.

    The Boeing 737-600 en-route to Marseille, France, had to return shortly after the crew detected a contaminated fuel filter, reporting they had to shut down its engine.

    Aerolineas Argentinas Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Issue

    Aerolineas Argentinas flight AR-1651 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Bahia Blanca, Argentina, on July 13th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Neuquen to Buenos Aires, Argentina, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and fifty-three passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.

    ANA Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Japan

    ANAAll Nippon Airways flight NH-823 made an emergency landing in Okinawa, Japan, on December 18.

    Authorities said the Boeing 767-300, en-route from Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan, to Taipei, Taiwan, was forced to divert after the crew reported haze in the cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 198 people on board remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    The incident is being investigated.
