    What: UTAir/Tulpar Airlines Yakovlev Yak-42 en route from Moscow Vnukovo to Volgograd with 57 passengers and 7 crew
    When: Dec 10th 2011
    Who: 57 passengers and 7 crew
    Why: While en route, the Yak developed engine problems in the left engine.

    The crew shut down the engine (idled) and made a safe landing in Volgograd.

    RAF Chinook Emergency Landing in AZ

    What: RAF Boeing Chinook HC2 (CH-47D) en route from Naval Air Facility El Centro Imperial Valley, California
    Where: Arizona
    When: April 7 2012 7.30pm BST
    Who: 7 injured
    Why: A UK Chinook made an emergency landing “mishap” in Arizona, about fifteen miles from Yuma.

    Seven aboard the helicopter were examined at El Centro Regional Medical Center but were reported as both injured and uninjured. The accident occurred during a training mission. How much damage the helicopter sustained is unknown.

    Alaska Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Eastern Oregon Regional Airport

    An Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Eastern Oregon Regional Airport in Pendleton, Oregon, on January 26th.

    The plane heading from Spokane, Washington, to Portland, Oregon, was diverted due to a medical emergency.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Spain

    Lufthansa flight LH-1825 had to return for an emergency landing in Bilbao, Spain, on February 27th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Munich, Germany, but had to turn back due to a cargo door indication.

    The plane landed safely. There were 109 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    VivaColombia Plane Returns to Florida after Engine Fire Indication

    Viva ColombiaVivaColombia flight 5Z-355 had to return and make a safe emergency landing at Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida, on July 13th.

    The Airbus A320-200 flying to Bogota, Colombia was mid-air when the crew reported fire indication on its right hand engine.

    The plane landed successfully.

    All 121 passengers and 5 crew members onboard remained unharmed.

    Alliance Air flight AI-836 made an emergency landing in Delhi, India, on April 9th.

    The plane flying from Pathankot, India, was descending toward Delhi when the crew declared an emergency due to an engine issue.
