Why: While en route, Jet Airways pilots had to shut down and engine and divert to Mumbai.

One of the Boeing’s engines caught on fire.

Pilots made a safe landing at Mumbai-Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. On the ground at the airport at 5:45 a.m., fire and smoke was reported coming from the left engine.

Passengers evacuated at the nearest taxiway. Emergency services put out the engine fire in minutes.

Plane Carrying China’s Richest Man Makes Emergency Landing in India

A plane, carrying China’s richest man Wang Jianlin, made an emergency landing at Agartala airport, India, on June 11.

The head of Dalian Wanda group, Wang Jianli and 8 other people were aboard the flight that was en-route from New Delhi, India to Beijing, China. Authorities said the Gulfstream G650 jet had to make an emergency landing due to a technical snag in its engines.

Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

Delta Airlines Flight Diverts to Cold Bay due to Engine Issue

Delta Airlines flight DL-68 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Cold Bay, Alaska, on January 14th.

The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Narita International Airport, Japan, to Portland, Oregon, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were 210 passengers and 11 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

Condor Airlines Flight Returns to Dominican Republic

condor airlinesCondor Airlines flight DE-2221 had to return and make an emergency landing in La Romana, Dominican Republic, on March 5th.

The Boeing 767-300 took off for Frankfurt, Germany, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a strong odor on-board.

Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashed in Plainfield, IL

A Piper PA30 plane crashed in Plainfield, Illinois, on July 21st.

The plane was heading to Wisconsin when it went down, causing a house to catch fire.

The pilot Garry T. Bernardo, 58, of Lake Worth, Florida, was killed in the crash. He was the only person aboard the plane.

Robinson Emergency Landing in Russia

A UTair Aviation Robinson R44 had two people aboard on November 22nd 2013 when it made a hard landing in Tyumen, Russia.

This information comes even before a preliminary investigation, but reports are that there was an engine malfunction.

Task Force Firehouse number 146 responded to the scene where it land at Tarakanova Yarkovsky village in Tyumen, Russia.

Why: On approach to Manises Airport in Valencia the plane was struck by lightning. The flight made a safe landing, and the team was able to continue to the planned match.
