    JetBlue Flight 354 Diverts and Lands in Emergency

    jetBlueJetBlue flight 354 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport, shortly before 11 a.m. on July 16.

    The incident happened when the plane, carrying 104 passengers, was en route from West Palm Beach International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport.

    Spokesperson of JetBlue, Tamara Young, confirmed the incident and said in statement that the decision for emergency landing was made after the pilot observed a ‘mechanical indication’ in the cockpit area.

    The statement further said, “The aircraft landed safely, without incident and taxied to the gate under its own power. The aircraft is currently being inspected.”

    A replacement plane was arranged for taking the passengers to their destination.

    Xtra Airways Plane Returns to Rochester

    xtraXtra Airways flight XP-6801 had to return and make an emergency landing at Greater Rochester International Airport in Rochester, New York, on October 14.

    The Boeing 737-400, heading to Atlantic City, New Jersey, had to turn back after the crew noticed crack in its windshield.

    There were over 130 passengers on-board; all of them remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    What: Delta Airlines DC-9 en route from Detroit to Minneapolis
    Where: Ashwaubenon
    When: May 21, 2011
    Who: 81 passengers, 5 crew
    Why: The plane was en route when the pilot smelled smoke from burning plastic in the cabin, and announced to passengers they would be diverting to Green Bay with rescue services from De Pere, Allouez, Ashwaubenon, Hobart and Howard on standby.

    They made a safe landing in Green Bay at Austin Straubel International Airport at 2:25 pm

    Missouri Emergency Landing


    A Learjet diverted to Saint Louis Missouri and made a safe landing after the pilot experienced problems with the landing gear. The plane was coming from Wooster Ohio.

    The pilot was forced to circle Cahokia airport after experiencing trouble with the landing gear, planning to land at Parks Airport in Cahokia but eventually landing in Lambert.

    The pilot performed a flyby for the tower to inspect the landing gear, and subsequently burned off fuel, and landed without landing gear.

    None of the eight people aboard reported injury. Emergency services were on standby, and passengers exited the plane normally, and were carried via shuttle bus to the gate.

    ExpressJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Montgomery Regional Airport

    ExpressJetExpressJet flight 5071 made an emergency landing at Montgomery Regional Airport, Alabama, on September 18.

    It is believed that the flight, en-route from Lafayette, Louisiana, to Atlanta, Georgia was diverted after the crew reported smell of smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.

    The flight was operating as Delta Connection.

    National Guard Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in New York

    A New York Army National Guard helicopter made an emergency landing at the Chili Country Club in Scottsville, New York, on May 1st.

    The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was on a routine training flight when its windshield cracked, prompting the pilot to declare an emergency.

    The helicopter landed safely on the ninth hole fairway. All 5 crew members aboard remained safe.
