    Fire Fighting Tanker Belly Landing at Minden-Tahoe Airport

    What: Minden Air Corp Lockheed SP-2H Neptune
    Where: Minden-Tahoe Airport in Carson Valley
    When: June 3, 2012 3:30 pm.
    Who: 2 aboard
    Why: The inbound tanker was unable to lower all of it’s landing gear, and burned off (about 7000 gallons) of fuel before it made a belly landing at 3:30 pm.

    Neither the pilot nor the co-pilot were injured but the plane did skid off the runway.

    The air tanker is a fire-fighting plane which had been engaged in fighting a wildfire south of Reno.

    Journalists Die in Belarus Chopper Crash

    What: Belarusian Eurocopter AS 355NP Ecureuil II AS355 NP border patrol helicopter
    Where: Lithuanian border about 800 metres from Vileity
    When: October 20 2011, 3:45 p.m
    Who: 5 fatalities
    Why: Three journalists, Vitaly Prochkovsky, 36; Sergei Shamalov, 39; and Yulia Shaternik, 28 died working on a report about border security for Union, a Belarus television and radio company. Pilots Igor Skvortsov and Andrew Pekarsky also died in in the crash. The chopper circled a house, and fell out of the sky. The Twin Squirrel helicopter they were on crashed for an unknown reason. Forester Elena Kirplyuk witnessed the crash. Crash site specialists converged on the scene. An investigation is underway.

    Small Plane Crashed at Trinca Airport, NJ; Pilot Dead

    A small plane crashed at Trinca Airport in Green Township, New Jersey, on August 6th.

    Authorities said the single-engine plane went down at the end of the runway.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Plane Crashes in South Bend

    The pilot of a Montana Beechcraft Premier I Twin Jet en route from Tulsa Oklahoma attempted a landing about 4:15 p.m but aborted to make a go round.

    The pilot failed to return to the airport.

    Eight minutes later, the 7700 Enterprises-owned plane crashed near South Bend Regional Airport on March 17, 2013. The jet clipped a house, damaged the next, and impacted the final house where it came to rest.

    Leaking fuel posed a danger so area electricity was cut off. Two fatalities were reported, including Wes Caves, the owner of the business that owns the plane.

    Beechcraft Crash in Texas

    What: O’Neal Aviation LLC Beechcraft E90 King Air en route from Amarillo to Fort Worth
    Where: Armstrong County Texas
    When: Dec 14, 2012
    Who: pilot
    Why: The pilot was en route and ten minutes into the flight when he lost control.Witnesses saw the plane go down south of Farm-to-Market Road 1258 in Armstrong County.

    The pilot was killed. The plane disappeared from radar at 6 pm. The debris field was located on Dec 14.

    Helicopter Crash Kills Experienced Pilot in New Zealand

    HelicopterA Hughes 500E helicopter crashed on Koatanui Rd in Brunswick, northwest of Wanganui, New Zealand, at around 9:30 a.m. on October 28.

    The helicopter was being used to spray farmland near the State Highway 3 at Kai Iwi, when it crashed.

    The pilot of the helicopter, identified as Peter William Robb, 56, was killed at the scene. According to the executive officer of the New Zealand Helicopter Association, John Sinclair, he was a “very experienced pilot, well-respected in the industry”.

    The CAA is investigating the cause of crash.
