    Scandinavian Airlines Plane Returns to Shannon Airport due to Landing Gear Problem

    Scandinavian Airlines flight SK-9113 had to return and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on February 12th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Ostrava, Czech Republic, but had to turn back due to an issue with the landing gear.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    British Airways Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Smoke on Board

    British Airways flight BA-213 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on February 9th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Heathrow Airport, England, to Boston, Massachusetts, was diverted after smoke was noticed on board.

    The plane landed safely. All two hundred and twenty-four passengers and fifteen crew members remained unharmed.

    Unruly Passenger Forces Delta Emergency Landing on Christmas Night

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight 81 had to make an emergency landing on Christmas night, at Albuquerque International Sunport, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

    The Boeing 767, en-route from Atlanta to Los Angeles, was diverted after the pilot reported a ‘security threat’ due to a disruptive passenger on-board.

    The plane, carrying more than 200 passengers, landed shortly after 6 p.m. The police escorted the unruly passenger out of the plane.

    The flight was able to take off again after around 90 minutes.

    According to Airport spokesperson Daniel Jiron, the man was not charged but was not allowed to board the flight again.

    What: JAL Japan Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from Sapporo to Kobe
    Where: Sapporo
    When: Jan 3rd 2010
    Who: 231 on board
    Why: After takeoff, the jet ingested a bird in its left engine. The engine sputtered, and pilots shut it down, then made a safe landing back the airport shortly afterwards. A replacement jet was provided.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Minneapolis

    Delta Airlines flight DL-1137 made an emergency landing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on June 27th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane heading from San Francisco, California, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
