Why: Engine trouble
Air France flight AF-66 made an emergency landing in Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, on September 30th.
The Airbus A380-800 plane heading from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted after one of the engines suffered a serious damage.
The plane landed safely. All four hundred and ninety-seven passengers and twenty-three crew members remained unharmed.

What: Piper Twin Comanche en route from Livingston County New York

Why: On liftoff, one of the engines lost power.The pilot attempted to land on the runway but was unsuccessful and had to land in a nearby field
Azul Brazilian Airlines flight AD-4966 had to reject take off from Sao Paulo, Brazil, on December 7th.
The plane was accelerating to take off for Uberlandia, Brazil, when the crew reported an engine failure and rejected take off.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
A Piper PA-28 plane crashed in a residential area in Bayonne, New Jersey, on February 19th.
The plane went down on Avenue E between 41st and 42nd streets, knocking out some power lines.
The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was injured and was taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey.
The cause of accident is being investigated.
Delta Flight 1703 had to make an emergency landing at Tampa International Airport in Florida, on May 4.
According to the airline, the Boeing 737 was en-route from Tampa to Detroit when a “performance issue” in one of its two engines forced the pilot to turn around.
The plane landed uneventfully all 177 passengers aboard remained safe.
The airline provided a replacement aircraft for the passengers.
A small plane crashed near Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Florida, on April 12.
Authorities said the twin-engine Piper PA-31 was attempting to land at the airport when it went down near Northwest 62nd Street.
All 4 people aboard the plane were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been released.
The aircraft took off from Orlando Executive Airport.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
