    Food Poisoning In the Skies

    What: Lufthansa Airbus A340-600 en route from Newark to Munich
    Where: Keflavik International Airport
    When: October 20, 2010 6: 40 am
    Who: 5 or 6 passengers
    Why: The flight landed due to passengers showing symptoms of food poisoning. They made a safe landing at Keflavik and the ill passengers were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

    An investigation of the restaurants where the passengers ate, as well as the food they consumed on the plane is underway.

  • Crash: National Airways Corporation



    What: National Airways Corporation
    Where: Rand Airport
    When: 26 April 2008
    Who: pilot Ms Kekana, 21 and flight-tracker Peter-John Winterbottom, 29
    Why: pilot hit an airplane-shed, lost control over the helicopter and crashed it onto the runway. The plane, which had just refuelled, burst into flames.

    Brazil Cessna Crash

    What: Cessna 310R en route from Leopoldina to Pampulha
    Where: Serra do Curral, Minas Gerais Brazil
    When: Feb 26 2010
    Who: 2 fatalities
    Why: After takeoff, the plane crashed in conditions of fog and low visibility. The mountainous crash site was 5 meters below the top of Serra do Curral mountain range. The plane apparently blew up on impacting a “wall” of mountain.

    A local fire department helicopter spotted the wreckage.

    The victims were identified as Tanus Sales and Rafael Tanus Pascoal Sales. Rafael was the pilot.

    Airbus Vibration Leaving Rochester

    What: Jetblue Airbus A320-200 en route from Rochester, NY to New York,NY
    Where: Rochester
    When: Dec 6th 2009
    Who: 147 passengers and 5 crew
    Why: After takeoff, the flight suffered severe vibration during flap retraction. The Airbus returned to Rochester and made a safe landing, and an alternative flight was provided in less than 5 hours.
