    SriLankan Airlines Plane Returns to Bangkok due to Smoke in Cabin

    Srilankan airlinesSriLankan Airlines flight UL-891 had to return and make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 7th.

    The plane took off for Colombo, Sri Lanka, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    What: An Emirates Airlines Airbus A340-500, registration A6-ERG en route from Melbourne,VI Australia to Dubai United Arab Emirates
    Where: Melbourne Australia
    When: Mar 20th 2009 at 11:30
    Who: 225 on board
    Why: The plane suffered a tail strike on takeoff from Melbourne’s runway 16, climbed and dumped fuel, and when smoke filled the cabin, landed on Melbourne’s runway 34. Damage included some runway lights, damage to the tail skin and access panels.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Boston

    Delta Airlines flight DL-72 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 29th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Atlanta, Georgia, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, was diverted after the crew noticed engine vibrations.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Srinagar

    Air India flight AI-822 had to return and make an emergency landing in Srinagar, India, on August 26th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Jammu, India, but had to turn back after the crew reported that they had not received a locked indication for the gear.

    The plane landed back safely. All one hundred and forty-five people aboard remained unharmed.

    Kingfisher Birdstrike in Mumbai

    What: Kingfisher Airlines A320 en route from Mumbai to New Delhi
    Where: Mumbai
    When: Oct 8 2010,
    Who: 120 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, the flight incurred a bird strike.

    The crew made an emergency landing back in Mumbai. Passengers disembarked, and will be provided an alternative flight. Meanwhile, maintenance will be examining any damage to the plane committed in the bird strike.
