Turkish Airlines Jet Skids Off Runway at Kathmandu Airport
A Turkish Airlines passenger jet, operating flight # TK726, skidded off the runway at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 4.The accident happened in dense foggy conditions, when the Airbus A330, carrying 224 people, was coming from Istanbul, Turkey.
The plane ended up on its nose and the passengers had to use emergency slides to exit.
None of the passengers and crew members sustained serious injuries.

Crashed, Stolen, Force Landings on April 1 No Joke
On April 1:
- A privately owned Reims Cessna F172E with two aboard made an emergency landing in Nome, Norway after an engine failed. Neither of the two aboard reported injury.
- An Ultralight suffered a mechanical failure in south Surrey, BC crashed and sustained damage. The pilot parachuted out into a field of blueberries, and was injured but survived.
- The pilot of a Beech J35 Bonanza force landed in a cornfield in northwest Davenport, Iowa after the plane suffered a mechanical failure. THe plane was damaged. The pilot was not.
- A privately owned Cessna 210H that took off from Bullo River Station with four aboard crashed near Cape Ford in Australia. The bodies of three of the four people aboard have been recovered. Those aboard were 45-year-old electrical contractor Stuart Sceney, his 53-year-old wife Karmi Dunn, and daughters Mekdes, 12, and Kal, 15. A search continues for the wreckage and the remaining passenger. Weather conditions hampered the search.
- A Cessna 172 Skyhawk went down with engine troubles in Juneau County swamp, Wonewoc, Wisconsin. THe pilot Seth Pripps of Rockford, Ill was uninjured. Firefighters assisted.
- A Caicos Express Airways Cessna 402C took off from and landed at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and suffered a nose-gear collapse. The plane is registered to Turks and Caicos Islands. The pilot was uninjured.
- A Cirrus SR22 was reported missing/stolen from Benton Arkansas. It was found abandoned in Casscoe Arkansas. On Monday night, the plane had been scheduled to land at Saline County Airport. When officers approached, the plane took off nearly hitting a deputy.

Turkish Helicopter Crashes Killing a Dozen Military, Plus Civilians on the ground
What: Turkish Army Sikorsky S-70A-28 (CH-60)
Where: Bagrami district, Kabul
When: Mar 16, 2012, 10:25 a.m.
Who: 10 fatalities aboard, 2 on the ground
Why: The Turkish (Turk Kara Ordusu Havaciligi) helicopter crashed into a house in Bagrami District. A dozen Turkish troopers aboard the helicopter were killed. The number reported as being inside the house varies from 2 (children) to a total of eight residents. The Herald Sun reported five bodies. One report says a female casualty may have been aboard the helicopter.The crash is attributed to a malfunction, and not to any military action.
Grisly descriptions of the scene of the crash indicate the bodies of the military victims were decimated into parts. The bodies of two girls from but not in the multi-story brick house have been recovered. The house is described as “scorched” “a smoking hole” and with “several large holes.” A woman and a Turkish boy were injured.

An Embraer EMB-201A Ipanema was en route from Paracatu MG to Goinia when the pilot had to make a forced landing in a field. The plane was commonly used as a cropduster.The plane had had a fuel supply problem before but apparently this time the problem was in the fuel pump/power system.
The pilot was uninjured but the plane sustained some damage. There was no fire, but firefighters were on hand, and there was a fuel leak.
Centro de Investigação e Prevenção de Acidentes Aeronáuticos (Cenipa) will be investigating.

Cessna Flips in Pescadero
What: Rented Sterling Aviation’s Cessna 150 en route from Monterey to Half Moon Bay Airport
Where: PESCADERO, CA in an open field south of Half Moon Bay (about 1 mile south of Pescadero Road and Highway 1 )

Who: 2 Michael Paul Harris, and his wife, Danette,
Why: The pilot noticed they were running low on fuel. After a Forced landing in a field outside of PESCADERO, CA, about 200 yards into the field, the plane’s front nose wheel dug into the soil and collapsed, causing the plan to flip. The pilot buzz is that the renter of the plane should have refueled, and that the forced landing and resultant plane damage was entirely unnecessary. Six Die in Crash in France
On November 19, 2013, an Aircraft Guaranty Corp Trustee Socata TBM-700 was en route from Annecy – Haute-Savoie – Mont Blanc Airport with five men and one woman aboard when it developed problems. There were no survivors. They were all employed by part of the Vivialys, a real estate agency.
The plane was en route from Annecy to Toussus-le-Noble when it crashed ten miles south of Auxerre after 11:00 am (1000 GMT) in a field near the village of Mouffy. Some reports say “There was heavy fog” at the time of the crash and a witness heard “a strange whistling noise”. The debris field is spread in a radius of 1000 feet.
The aircraft was registered in the United States. The BEA, France’s Accident Investigation Bureau, sent four investigators.
