Why: After a two hour ten minute flight, the helicopter on a training flight developed engine failure, dodged high-tension wires and other buildings to land on a Bangalore roof.The Schweizer 269C is a light four year old plane used for civilian training.
The helicopter was damaged during the emergency landing, rolling over on its side on the rooftop of Maitri Apartments in the Byapanahalli area in North East Bangalore and leaking some of the 20 litres of fuel it carried. The rotors were blown off on impact with the parapet. Retired Air Commodore Roj Assey and trainee Digvijay Singh survived the emergency landing uninjured.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is investigating.

Exploits Vallet Air Service Plane makes Hard Landing in Canada
Exploits Vallet Air Service flight AC-7804 made a hard landing at Gander International Airport, Canada, on April 20.The Beech 1900D, flying on behalf of Air Canada, had its nose gear collapsed causing it to skid on its nose to a stop on the runway.
There were 14 passengers and 2 crew members aboard. Three of them were injured.
The plane sustained minor damage.

Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJ-800 veered off runway at Sulaimaniyah International Airport, Iraq, on March 4th.The incident happened when the Embraer ERJ-175 plane was coming from Amman, Jordan.
