American Airlines flight AA-1668 made an emergency landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 15th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Chicago, Illinois, but had to turn back after the right-hand engine stalled.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
United Airlines Flight 1564 had to return and make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia, on the night of November 17.
The Boeing 757 departed for San Francisco International Airport at around 6:30 p.m., but was forced to turn back due to a mechanical issue.
The plane, carrying 151 passengers and 6 crew members, landed uneventfully. No one was injured.
An airline official said, “Our maintenance team is currently inspecting the aircraft, and we will accommodate passengers to San Francisco later this evening.”
Flybe flight BE-1583 had to make an emergency landing in Southampton, England, on August 5th.
The plane was heading to Palma in Mallorca, Spain, when the crew noticed a hydraulic leak and decided to return for an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

What: Gulf Air Airbus A330-200 en route from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to Bahrain
Where: Muscat
When: Feb 5th 2011
Who: 136 passengers
Why: While en route, the pilot’s illness forced a landing at Muscat. The flight was completed by a replacement crew, after the captain was hospitalized after a heart attack.
Ryanair flight FR-8086 had to return and make an emergency landing at Riga International Airport, Riga, Latvia, on October 26.
The Boeing 737-800, en-route to Charleroi, Belgium, had to return due to suspected fuel leakage in one of its engine.
The plane landed safely.
All 176 passengers and 6 crew members aboard remained unhurt.

What: Egyptair Airbus A320-200 en route from Cairo to Nairobi
Where: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi
When: June 6, 2012, 3.36am
Who: 143 aboard
Why: While landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the plane veered off the runway on to soft ground, shutting down the airport and causing delays for the rest of the day. Passengers were evacuated with no injuries reported. Flights were diverted to Mombasa and Entebbe.
Passengers disembarked on the soft ground and were ported to the gate.
A small plane crashed in the community of Cascade, West Virginia, on March 27th.
Authorities said the plane went down near Martinsville Highway and Long Circle Road, shortly before 5 p.m.
There were four people aboard the plane, including the pilot and three passengers. The pilot was taken to hospital with minor injuries while the passengers remained uninjured.
The incident is being investigated.
