Allegiant Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-82, en route from South Bend to Punta Gorda Florida with 149 passengers and five crew diverted to Fort Wayne Indiana and made a safe landing with emergency services on standby.
Pilots diverted because of a warning light. Passengers were evacuated safely.
An alternative flight was provided.
Delta Airlines flight DL-762 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Nashville International Airport, Nashville, Tennessee, on May 8th.
The Boeing 717-200, heading from Atlanta, Georgia, to Chicago, Illinois, had to divert after it encountered turbulence, resulting in the separation of its right hand engine’s cowl.
The plane received substantial damage.
All 114 people onboard remained unhurt.
Austral Líneas Aéreas flight AR-2431, operating on behalf of Aerolineas Argentinas, returned to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA, on September 28.
The Embraer ERJ-190, heading towards Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires, Argentina, had to return due to some issue with its ailerons.
The plane landed safely.
No injuries were reported.
The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.
A small Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft made an emergency landing near the Arizona-California border on November 5.
The plane was en-route to California when it started experiencing engine trouble due to a fuel pump malfunction.
The pilot landed the plane on a natural gas pipeline road, around 20 miles east of Lake Havasu City in Arizona. The authorities said the pilot and his only passenger remained unharmed however, the aircraft’s wing was torn off after it crashed into a tree during landing.
The FAA and the NTSB will investigate.
Southwest Airlines flight WN-3345 made a safe landing at Los Angeles International Airport, California, on May 17th.
The Boeing 737-700, flying from Sacramento, California, was about to reach the destination when it encountered turbulence.
The plane landed safely.
A flight attendant sustained injuries.

Why: While on a training flight, pilots were landing at Juneau International Airport on a wet runway when the plane’s gear collapsed.
The pilot had been practicing touch-and-go landings.
The plane came to rest on its side. The plane suffered significant damage. The runway was tied-up as the plane was towed to an aircraft parking area. The pilot and passenger survived.
