    National Guard Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Texas due to Mechanical Issue

    A National Guard chopper had to make an emergency landing in a muddy field near Interstate 10, Baytown, Texas, on the evening of August 30th.

    The pilot had encountered a mechanical issue mid-air, which prompted him to land.

    The helicopter got stuck in the mud. No casualties were reported.

    Ethiopian Airlines Flight Diverts to Lahore due to Suspected Fuel Leak

    Ethiopian airlinesEthiopian Airlines flight ET-605 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Lahore, Pakistan, on November 8th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Beijing, China, to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, was diverted due to a suspected fuel leak.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 335 passengers and 12 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

  • Student Dies six days after Crash

    What: University of Dubuque plane
    Where: Eagle’s Roost Resort in Cassville, Wis. approaching the airport.
    When: Tuesday
    Who: Grant Vogt, a junior aviation student died six days after the crash; student pilot Cory Alsip is recovering.
    Why: The plane crashed into a tree and two cabins before it burst into flames. One student died at the crash; the other died later at the hospital.

    Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Istanbul

    Turkish Airlines flight TK-541 made an emergency landing in Istanbul, Turkey, on June 13th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane took off for Niamey, Niger, but the crew received a tail strike indication during departure and decided to return.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Cessna Crashes in Independence County; Pilot Killed

    A small plane crashed in a heavily wooded area near Batesville Airport in Independence County, Arkansas, on the night of April 2.

    Director of the Independence County Office of Emergency Management, Glen Willis, said it appears the Cessna 152 crashed when it was returning to Carlisle from Salem.

    The pilot was killed in the accident. His body was shifted to Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    KLM Cityhopper Flight Returns to Amsterdam After Lightning Strike

    KLM Cityhopper flight KL-1325 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on August 25th.

    The plane took off for Alesund, Norway, but had to turn back due to a lightning strike.
