    No Flaps—Fast Landing

    Delta flight 5104 carrying 47 people from Atlanta to Allentown made an emergency landing at Lehigh Valley International Airport after the Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-200 developed problems with its flaps.

    Lehigh Valley International Airport is a regular stop on 5106.

    Air traffic control was notified at 6:35 p.m. and within twenty minutes the flight had made a fast landing without flaps—a fast landing because flaps help the plane slow down.

    No injuries were reported.

    S7 Airlines Flight Returns to Novosibirsk After Bird Strike

    S7 Airlines flight S7-3515 made an emergency landing in Novosibirsk, Russia, on June 19th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-seven people aboard remained unharmed.

    Braathens Regional Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Vibrations

    braathensBraathens Regional Airways flight TF-164 made an emergency landing in Malmo, Sweden, on November 7th.

    The plane was flying from Stockholm Bromma Airport, Sweden, when the crew reported vibrations in one of the engines and decided to shut it down.

    2 Slightly Injured after Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Brookland

    MarshA helicopter made an emergency landing in a field in Snargate Lane, Brookland, England, at around 11:10 a.m. on February 13.

    The incident happened when the helicopter was carrying 2 men. According to South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman Rich Airey, “It was reported that the helicopter had a soft landing but then rolled onto its side…We sent two ambulances, a car and the hazardous area response team.”

    Both occupants of the Robinson R22 suffered only minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that they did not need hospital treatment.

    The accident is being investigated.
