    Zero G Boeing Makes Emergency Landing in Florida

    Zero GA Zero Gravity Corporation flight had to make an emergency landing at Vero Beach municipal airport, Indian River County, Florida, at around 5 P.M. on October 22.

    The Boeing 727, with 3 people aboard, had to land in emergency due to a possible engine failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    No injuries were reported.

    Cayman Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Grand Cayman Airport

    Cayman Airways flight KX-505 made an emergency landing at Owen Roberts International Airport in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, on December 27th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from O’Hare International Airport, Illinois, was descending toward Grand Cayman when the crew requested emergency assistance due to an unidentified odor in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Oslo: Near Miss

    On Oct 31, 2013, a Norwegian Boeing 737-800#LN-DYC en route from Trondheim to Oslo with 130 passengers and 6 crew, was descending towards Oslo and was switched to a different runway. A second Norwegian Boeing 737-800 #LN-NOM en route from Oslo to Trondheim took off. Instructions from ATC became confused, and both planes followed a single instruction, bringing them into proximity.

    Flight 741, which was landing, was below Flight 740. Flight 740 got a TCAS (Traffic collision avoidance system) warning and diverged. Accident Investigation Board Norway noted the minimum separation between the two aircraft was down to 0.2nm lateral at 500 feet vertical.

    SriLankan Airlines Plane Returns to Bangkok due to Smoke in Cabin

    Srilankan airlinesSriLankan Airlines flight UL-891 had to return and make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 7th.

    The plane took off for Colombo, Sri Lanka, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Memmingen-bound Ryanair Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Palma

    RyanairA Ryanair airlines plane en route from Majorca airport in Palma, Spain, to Memmingen, Germany, had to return and make an emergency landing on the morning of May 29.

    Flight FR8551, with 148 passengers on-board took off from Palma Son Sant Joan airport at 6:43 a.m. However, shortly after take-off, a fire warning in the undercarriage of the aircraft turned on. The captain then asked for permission to return and make the emergency landing at about 7:20 a.m..

    None of the passengers and crew members were injured. A spokesperson for Spain’s aviation authority AENA said, “The airport activated the emergency procedure and the plane landed. There was no fire and no incident involving any passengers. The plane is being examined.”

    Oman Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Bulgaria

    Oman Air flight WY-123 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Sofia, Bulgaria, on March 4th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Muscat, Oman, to Munich, Germany, was diverted after the crew noticed smell of smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
