    Cebu Pacific Plane Diverts to India due to Disruptive Passenger

    downloadCebu Pacific flight 5J-7945 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, India, on the morning of July 30.

    The Airbus 330-300 had to be diverted due to a disruptive woman passenger, identified as Jeane T., who first complained of sickness and then informed the crew about a bomb in the plane.

    The plane en-route from Dubai, UAE, was transporting 430 passengers and 12 crew members to Manila, Philippines, at the time.

    The plane landed uneventfully and everyone aboard remained safe.

    The plane was cleared to depart after security clearance while the woman was handed over to the Philippines Embassy in India.

    Air Cargo Crash in Kabul

    What: National Air Cargo/Transafrik International Hercules L-100 en route from Bagram Air Base to Kabul
    Where: 25-30km east of Kabul
    When: Oct 12th 2010, around 19:30
    Who: 7 crew (six Philipinos, an Indian, a Kenyan—all fatalities)
    Why: While en route, the airplane disappeared from radar about 6nm northeast of the airfield. The flight impacted a mountain in the Pol-e Charkhi area .

    Rescue teams are en route to the high altitude location.

    Southwest Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Iowa

    southwest_airlines_logoSouthwest Airlines Flight 3809 on its way from Minneapolis-St. Paul airport to Denver, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Sioux City airport in Iowa, at about 2:40 p.m. on June 29.

    The decision to divert and make an emergency landing was made after the pilot noticed a power warning light flashing in the cockpit.

    The Boeing 737, with 143 passengers and 5 crew members aboard, then landed without incident after remaining in the air for about 90 minutes.

    Southwest spokeswoman Michelle Agnew said that the pilot adopted a cautious route although the situation was not that dire.

    Sioux City airport operations manager John Backer said that the passengers were provided a replacement plane to resume the journey after waiting for three hours in the lounge.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Charlotte

    American Airlines flight AA-730 had to return for an emergency landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 21st.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Heathrow Airport, England, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a possible issue with the flaps.

    The plane landed back safely. All two hundred and fifty-eight passengers and sixteen crew members remained unharmed.

    British Airways Plane Returns to London Heathrow Airport

    britishairwaysBritish Airways flight BA-277 had to return and make an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, London, United Kingdom, on June 12th.

    The plane took off for Hyderabad, India, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with weather radar.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

    Lufthansa flight LH-1742 made an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on March 9th.

    The plane took off for Chisinau, Moldova, but damaged multiple tires during departure.

    The crew subsequently returned for a safe landing.

    The plane became disabled on the runway. All twenty-nine passengers and four crew members remained safe.
