    GoAir Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Delhi Airport

    GoAir flight G8-557 made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India, on February 8th.

    According to the airline, the plane took off for Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, but had to turn back “due to technical reasons.”

    The plane landed safely. All 187 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.

    Air Dolomiti Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

    Air Dolomiti flight EN-8219 made an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on June 4th.

    The plane flying from Bari, Italy, was descending toward Munich when the crew noticed a hydraulic failure and advised that they might blow tires upon landing.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Allegiant Air emergency landing in Wilmington

    What: Allegiant Air en route from Orlando Florida to Plattsburgh New York
    Where: North Carolina
    When: October 23, 2011
    Who: 145 passengers
    Why: While en route, the pilots saw an indication of an oil pressure problem and diverted to Wilmington where they made a safe landing.

    The flight made a safe landing in Wilmington.

    Disabled Piper Quietly Lands on Palm Beach

    What: Secure Aviation Inc Piper PA-31-310 Navajo C
    Where: North Ocean Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL
    When: Jan 28 2012 2:46 pm
    Who: 1
    Why: After having engine problems, a pilot quietly landed his twin-engine Piper Navajo on the beach south of the Palm Beach jetty. He said “The plane didn’t want to run anymore, so it landed.”

    The pilot was not injured but the plane suffered some damage and will have to be dismantled to be removed from the beach.

    The 1974 plane is registered to Secure Aviation, 10218 SE Banyan Way in Tequesta.

    Windhoek Nambia: SAX Emergency Landing

    What: South African Express Airways Canadair CRJ-200 en route from Cape Town to Windhoek
    Where: Windhoek Namibia
    When: April 17 2010
    Why: The SAX CRJ landed with a hung nose wheel. (belly landing?) After landing with nose gear up, there were no injuries although airport operations were disrupted.

    Virgin Atlantic Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Cargo Smoke Indication

    Virgin Atlantic flight VS-34 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on August 15th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane heading from Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda, to Gatwick Airport, England, was diverted after the crew received a cargo smoke indication.

    The plane landed safely. All two hundred and eighty passengers and twelve crew members remained unharmed.
