    BA Flight Diverts to Siberia due to Smoking Smartphone

    britishairwaysBritish Airways flight BA18 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Irkutsk city of Siberia, Russia, on August 21.

    The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en-route from South Korea’s Incheon International Airport to London’s Heathrow airport, was diverted after a passengers’ smartphone began emitting smoke due to a ‘thermal runaway’.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 205 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    The plane was able to resume its journey after 3 hours.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Orlando

    Southwest Airlines made an emergency landing in Orlando, Florida, on February 21st.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Denver, Colorado, was diverted due to a suspected nose tire damage.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Mango Boeing Returns to South Africa after Flames in Engine

    MangoMango flight JE-248 had to return and make an emergency landing at Durban International Airport, Durban, South Africa, on June 10th.

    The Boeing 737-800, en-route to Johannesburg, South Africa, had to return when one of its engines flamed out and could not be started again.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    Serene Air Flight Suffers Bird Strike Near Lahore

    Serene Air flight ER-520 suffered a bird strike near Lahore, Pakistan, on March 25th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane was coming from Karachi, Pakistan.
