Why: On approach to Hamburg in stormy windy (47 knot wind gusts) weather, the left wing struck the runway on an attempted landing, veered, and had to make another go-round before a final landing.

What: SAS Scandinavian Airlines Boeing 737-700 en route from Bergen to Oslo (Norway)
Where: Bergen
When: Mar 2nd 2011
Who: 89 passengers
Why: After takeoff, the right engine started misbehaving, making rude noises and sparking. The pilots had to return to Bergen to get the engine’s attitude adjusted.
Air Algerie flight AH-4062 had to reject takeoff from Algiers, Algeria, on September 16th.
The Airbus A330-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, when the crew rejected takeoff due to a bird strike.
The plane slowed down safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Asiana Airlines flight OZ-131 had to return and make an emergency landing in Fukuoka, Japan, on July 21st.
The Airbus A350-900 plane took off for Seoul, South Korea, but had to turn back due to an issue with the nose gear.
The plane landed safely. All two hundred and nineteen passengers aboard remained unharmed.

What: Eurolot Polish Airlines Eurolot ATR 72 en route from Krakaw to Warsaw
Where: John Paul II Balice International Airport, Warsaw Poland

Why: In mid flight, the pilot detected cabin pressure problems, and had inconsistent readings. He reduced his altitude to handle the cabin pressure, and told ATC he would be crash-landing; however, the landing was normal.
Croatia Airlines flight OU-4456 had to return and make an emergency landing in Zagreb, Croatia, on January 29th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Brussels, Belgium, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
What: Air France Airbus A319-100 en route from Athens to Paris
Where: Athens
When: Feb 25th 2011
Who: 113 on board
Why: On takeoff, the plane had a bird strike.
THe flight returned to Athens about 30 minutes after takeoff. The extent of the damage to the plane was not reported.
