    US C-12 Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing at Fukushima Airport

    A U.S. C-12 logistics support aircraft, en route from Naval Air Facility Atsugi in Tokyo to Naval Air Facility in Misawa, northern Japan, had to make an emergency landing at the Fukushima Airport.

    The decision for emergency landing was made after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit. The plane made uneventful emergency landing at about 7pm on May 22.

    According to Daniel Sanford, Senior chief Misawa public affairs, “They did some emergency procedures and the smoke dissipated, but they asked to make a precautionary landing.” He also confirmed that none of the 6 people on-board were injured.

    The aircraft is being examined by the Misawa maintenance personnel.

    Transavia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    Transavia flight HV-5779 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on November 2nd.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Groningen, Netherlands, to Tenerife South Airport, Spain, was diverted due to an issue with the air conditioning.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Cathay Pacific Plane Diverts to Belarus due to Fuel Leakage

    Cathay PacificCathay Pacific flight CX-270 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Minsk National Airport, Belarus, on July 11th.

    The Boeing 777-300, flying from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Hong Kong, China, had to divert due to possible fuel leakage at one of its engines.

    Virgin Atlantic Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Gatwick Airport

    Virgin Atlantic flight VS-34 made an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport, England, on August 31st.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane flying from Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda, was on final approach to Gatwick Airport when the crew went around reporting issues with nose wheel steering and brakes.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
