A tourist plane and a helicopter collided mid-air in Aosta Valley, Italy, on January 25th.
The accident happened when the aircraft were flying over Rutor glacier.
Five people were killed in the crash. Two others were injured.

Two people were injured after a small plane crashed in Chattooga County, Georgia on May 13.The 1940 Taylorcraft plane crashed at about 7 p.m.between Teloga and Menlo at the passenger’s own property, 3 miles south of the local airstrip.
According to Eddie Henderson, Director of Chattooga County Emergency Management Agency, the pilot was flown to Erlanger by Life Force while the passenger was shifted to Floyd Medical Center in Rome. Both of them hail from Chattooga County.
FAA is investigating the cause of accident.

Tajikistan Airlines (Tajik Air) Flight 3183 crashed on 15 December 1997 on approach to Sharjah Airport in the United Arab Emirates. Only the navigator, Sergei Petrov, survived of a crew of seven and seventy-nine passengers. The Tupelov crashed into the desert eight miles east of the airport. The controlled flight into terrain originated from Dushanbe Airport Tajikistan. Who: 5 aboard, 5 fatalities
Why: After taking off from Teterboro airport en route to Atlanta-Dekalb Peachtree Airport, the pilot inquired about icing conditions, and shortly afterwards, crashed on I-287 in New Jersey. The plane came down on the median and broke up just outside of Morris township. One witness heard nothing but saw an explosion. Another witness smelled burning rubber and said it sounded like a wood chopper.The plane lost contact with ATC just before the crash.
Aboard the flight were Jerry Buckalew, 45 and Rakesh Chawla (36) managing directors of Greenhill & Co Investment Banking Firm. Buckalew’s wife Corinne and two children Jackson and Meriwether and a dog were also aboard. Witnesses say the plane was spinning and flipping, then a wing came off and the plane went straight down. Buckalew owned the plane.
No cars were stuck but the plane’s right wing landed in a tree 400 yards from the crash site..
The pilot had gotten clearance to climb to 17,500 feet. ATC said there was “moderate rime” at 17000 feet. Another controller warned of extreme icing.
The debris field covered an area half a mile wide. The northbound late of I-287 was blocked a heap of burning charred metal.

When: March 30, 2012 10:30 a.m.
Who: 1 fatality, 4 survivors
Why: A sightseeing helicopter crashed near Grotto Mountain near Banff National Park, Canmore, killing pilot Matthew Goodine of Prince George, British Columbia. The crash occurred at 10:30 a.m. Canadian Forces Base Trenton heard the emergency beacon at 12:30 and notified the mounties. EMS did not arrive until 2:45 and the pilot died while waiting to be airlifted to a hospital in Calgary. Rescue efforts on the remote back country mountain slope were hampered by high winds and snow, along with the rugged terrain. Rescue personnel rappelled from the chopper, and the two couples from Britain were airlifted in slings to be flown to hospitals.It began to snow around 10:30 a.m., and that may have been a factor. Weather will delay the investigation as much as a week due to snowy forecasts. There is no black box.
