On August 13, 2013, an AA Aerial Services and Frontline Energy operated Champion 7GCAA was on a survey mission over a natural gas transmission pipeline when it crashed in Hamlin Canyon, SW of Paradise, CA. The time is estimated at 11:35 a.m.
Witness Bob Smalley saw the plane circle to the right and fall out of the sky.
The plane caught fire on impact and by the time firemen got there, the plane was gone. When they arrived, they had no idea who was aboard and the plane was beyond identification. Twenty-one acres burned. The fire was contained by six engines, four water trucks, a bulldozer, four crews on the ground and aboveground, two air tankers and a spotter plane.
Afterwards, the plane was identified as one performing surveillance contracted for PG&E. The two people aboard who lost their lives were identified only as an employee of AA Aerial Services and one with Frontline Energy Service. However, the plane was registered to Fredrick Lewis, an agricultural pilot.

American Airlines flight 3358 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 30th.
The aircraft was heading from Dallas, Texas to Memphis, Tennessee, when it encountered bad weather, resulting in extreme turbulence inside the plane, prompting it to divert.
The plane landed uneventfully.
Two flight attendants received minor injuries while the passengers remained unharmed.
The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

What: Sabang Merauke Raya C-212-100 Aviocar en route from Batam to Batam Where: Bintan Island, Indonesia When: Feb 12th 2011 Who: 5 aboard (flight crew of 2, 3 techs) Why: The plane had just undergone maintenance (engine replacement) and was on a test flight with 5 crew members aboard.
Thirty minutes after takeoff, the plane disappeared from radar. The last contact was at 13:41 when the crew contacted Tanjung Pinang Approach.
The plane crashed.

What: Syrian Arab Airlines Where: Duma east of Damascus When: Sept 20, 2012 Who: 200 aboard, no injuries Why: The Syrian military helicopter that crashed near Damascus struck the tail of a Syrian Arab Airlines plane.
200 aboard were uninjured. Pilots managed to land the plane at Damascus.
A release stated that “The control tower at Damascus airport confirmed that the plane landed safely at Damascus airport and all 200 passengers are in good health.”
The Mil helicopter was damaged beyond repair. No one aboard survived.

What: Agni Air Dornier 228 en route from Pokhara to Jomsome Airport, Nepal Where: Jomsom Airport, Nepal When: May 14, 2012, 9.45 a.m Who: 21 aboard, 15 fatalities 18 passengers, 3 crew Why: Fifteen minutes after taking off from Pokhara, the plane with 21 passengers aboard crashed by Jomsom Airport, Nepal. Reports say that a wing contacted ground 890 feet north of the airport, and the nose embedded/impacted a muddy slope. Reports are the plane was attempting to return to Pokhara.
At the time of approach, weather was fine, though clear air turbulence can occur any time. Investigations will begin regarding technical problems with the plane, including the one that made the pilots turn back to the airport. Five surviving passengers were airlifted to Pokhara, for medical care at the Manipal College of Medical Sciences. The plane impacted behind the army barracks. There were 16 Indians aboard. A Danish couple, Emilie Jorgensen, 29, and Andreas Rasch, 30, are said to have survived the crash.

The passengers had been going to visit a pilgrimage site, Muktinath.
Reports are that most of the fatalities were Indian. One source, myrepublica.com said that there were 15 fatalities and six rescued. Numbers may not be accurate.
The bodies of pilot Prabhu Sharan Pathak and co-pilot J.D. Maharjan were among those recovered.
The marketing director of Agni Air, Pramod Pandey, said that there were 16 indians aboard, and six survivors. Three children, two foreigners and an air hostess R. Haiju survived at least to the hospital, all in critical condition.
Jomsom airport is known for unpredictable turbulence.

The pilot’s name has been disclosed as THOMAS P ALEXANDER Why: AIRCRAFT CRASHED INTO A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY between two houses. The plane caught fire but neither home was damaged. However, the pilot did not survive the crash. His flight record is currently under investigation. The homebuilt plane was certified in March.
