Who: THE ONE PERSON ON BOARD WAS FATALLY INJURED. The pilot’s name has been disclosed as THOMAS P ALEXANDER
Why: AIRCRAFT CRASHED INTO A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY between two houses. The plane caught fire but neither home was damaged. However, the pilot did not survive the crash. His flight record is currently under investigation. The homebuilt plane was certified in March.

Cessna Crashes in Village Kindergarten yard

What: Private Cessna
Where: Annino, Russia
When: August 22, 2012
Who: 2 aboard, 2 fatalities
Why: The light aircraft crashed and fell not far from St. Petersberg. The two pilots, 1st pilot Victor Ignatiev and 2nd pilot Alexei Syrchin died in the crash near the village of Annino.The pilots were taking the plane out just prior to a routine certification test. The pilots were attempted to land because they experienced engine problems, but they did not reach the runway and the plane impacted in the yard of a village kindergarten. No children were in the yard at the time of the crash.
The plane ignited on impact. One pilot was ejected, and one is locked in the cockpit.
42 people and 20 vehicles were involved in the rescue/recovery effort.
The plane had undergone repairs in Poland in 2007.

French Alps Chopper Crash Kills 6

Where: La Palud-sur-Verdon, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence

Who: 6 aboard, 6 fatalities
Why: In the village of La Palud-sur-Verdon, a Eurocopter group helicopter crashed, killing the six men aboard, including employees of Eurocopter. The newly assembled chipper was en route to the Albanian army when it apparently “caught a EDF power cable.”Two of those aboard may have been Albanian. Climbers were dispatched to assist with the recovery.

Microlight Crash in Anatalya Turkey Kills Pilot and Foreign Tourist

December 24, 2012, a Microlight in Anatalya Turkey with two aboard crashed while touring.A half hour after taking off, Pilot Joseph Karao?lu’nun Güzeloba and foreign tourist Mark Paris were killed.
The small plane flies below radar and cannot be detected. Authorities say the plane was likely overloaded. “The plane has a 70 liter tank and the engine can be removed.”
Prosecutors and crime scene investigation teams are workkng at the scene.
The remains were taken to the morgue for an autopsy at tye Institute of Forensic Medicine.

Plane Crashes North of San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.

What: Cessna Centurion being used for aerial photography
Where: crash/lands in the shallows north of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
When: 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Who: Pilot Matt Barcelona of San Jose and passenger Bruce Moody.
Why: The pilot reported a loss of power before it crashed. Witnesses reported the plane left a dark trail. After the impact. they managed to get the door open.
