Lufthansa flight LH-466 made an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 17th.
The Airbus A340-300 plane took off for San Diego, California, but had to turn back after the crew noticed vibrations in one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All two hundred and sixty-five passengers and thirteen crew members remained unharmed.
Norwegian Air Shuttle flight DY-1348 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Stavanger, Norway, on December 16th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Oslo, Norway, to Manchester, United Kingdom, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in cockpit.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
A light plane carrying famous actor Cliff Parisi was forced to make an emergency landing at the Manston airport, located in Thanet District of Kent, England, shortly before the airport was scheduled to close.
With Parsi and two others on-board, the plane was on its way to France when the pilot discovered a technical problem. He then diverted the plane towards Manston airport and made an uneventful emergency landing Thursday morning.
Manston airport ceased operations a few hours later, at 17:00 BST, despite the offers made to its owners from various parties interested in buying it.
Parsi, best known for playing the character of Minty in Eastenders and Fred in Call the Midwife, thanked and showed his support for the airport in a tweet.
“Just had an emergency landing at Manston air field thank God they are open today tomorrow they are closed for ever #savemanston”, said Parsi.

Why: The flight had such a hard touch down that it caused substantial landing gear damage, and several rivets separated from the wing.
The plane involved became part of the SATA fleet on May 9. It is unclear if the flight involved was flying from Funchal or Ponta Delgada; and the date also is reportedly either the 5th or the 6th.
Finnair flight AY-73 made an emergency landing in Helsinki, Finland, on October 19th.
The Airbus A350-900 plane took off for Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan, but had to turn back due to a technical problem.
The plane landed back safely. All two hundred and eighty-seven passengers aboard remained unharmed.
A Guyana-bound flight of Travelspan, operated by Vision Air, had to return to JFK International Airport, New York for emergency landing on the morning of July 15.
Chief Operations Manager at Travelspan Guyana, David Goberdhan, confirmed that the plane had to return to JFK, just two and a half hours after leaving the airport, because of “compression” problems with one of its engines.
The plane, a 767-300, landed safely and everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The aircraft was taken for examination by the airline’s mechanical and technical teams. Another aircraft was deployed to take the passengers to Guyana.
A Cessna 182 had to land in emergency at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport in Lubbock, Texas, on the afternoon of April 9.
Authorities said the pilot requested an emergency landing due to issues with plane’s nose landing gear.
The plane landed uneventfully at around 12 p.m.
The pilot remained unharmed.
