Alaska Airlines flight AS-145 made an emergency landing in Honolulu, Hawaii, on April 27th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Seattle, Washington, when the crew received indication of an engine oil filter bypass.
The plane continued for a safe landing. All one hundred sixty-five people aboard remained unharmed.

Why: Would you believe it? On approach to Guam (again) there was a problem with a United/Continental flight.(We’ve reported three or four of them in the past couple of weeks.) This approach to Guam International Airport was aborted because the plane indicated a problem with the landing gear. Pilots circled, as they dealt with the issue. A flyby resolved the question of if the landing gear was down (it was visibly engaged);
The pilots were able to land safely, fortunately with an indicator malfunction rather than a gear malfunction.
Air France flight AF-218 made an emergency landing in Kuwait City, Kuwait, on December 4th.
The plane heading from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, to Mumbai, India, was diverted due to smoke in the cabin.
The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.
Southwest Airlines flight 5929 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Kansas City International airport, Missouri, on November 22.
The plane was heading from Indianapolis to Los Angeles when the crew reported suspicious and unruly behavior of three passengers and requested an emergency landing.
The plane landed uneventfully.
The disruptive trio were taken for questioning while K-9 police dogs thoroughly searched the aircraft.
Authorities said the search teams found nothing unusual and the flight resumed after a while. The three passengers were also booked on a later flight.
An Emirates plane had to make an emergency landing in Perth, Western Australia, on December 1st.
The A380 plane was en-route from Auckland, New Zealand, to Dubai, UAE, when a passenger went into labor. There were two doctors on-board who helped her through her contractions while the pilot diverted to Perth.
The passengers said the woman did not speak English and the doctors had to use Google translate to communicate with her.
The plane landed safely. The passenger was rushed to hospital where she gave birth to a baby girl.
The delayed flight reached Dubai the next day.
Air New Zealand flight NZ-5755 suffered a lightning strike near Dunedin, New Zealand, on October 14th.
The incident happened when the plane, flying from Christchurch, New Zealand, was descending toward Dunedin.
The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained uninjured.
Delta Airlines flight 2841 made an emergency landing at Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on May 10th.
The plane took off from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was en-route to Minneapolis, Minnesota, when the crew reported a smoky odor and requested an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely. All 131 passengers remained unharmed.
