    Virgin Atlantic flight VS-7 made an emergency landing in Los Angeles, California, on July 30th.

    The Boeing 787-900 plane was flying from Heathrow Airport, England, when the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to an engine oil leak.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at JFK Airport

    Delta Airlines flight DL-1894 made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on January 21st.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from LaGuardia Airport, New York, to Boston, Massachusetts, was diverted due to a flaps problem.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Air Canada Flight Diverts to Calgary due to Heavy Turbulence; 21 Passengers Hospitalised

    Air CanadaAir Canada flight AC88 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Calgary International Airport in Canada, on December 30.

    The plane, heading from Shanghai, China, to Toronto, Canada, was diverted after it encountered severe turbulence that injured some of the passengers.

    The plane was carrying 332 passengers and 19 crew members at the time; 21 of them were taken to hospitals. According to the airline, eight of them were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries while the others were taken for observation.

    Progress TsSKB Aviakompania Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Russia

    A Progress TsSKB Aviakompania plane made an emergency landing in Kazan, Russia, on October 31st.

    The plane was flying from Baikonur, Kazakhstan, when the crew reported issues with one of the engines.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All 20 passengers and 9 crew members remained safe.

    Why: While en route not long after take-off, indicators revealed a rudder problem. Within a quarter hour of leaving, the flight returned to the airport. Landing and debarking was without incident.
