    What: JAL Japan Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from Brisbane,QL Australia to Tokyo
    Where: Tokyo
    When: Nov 2nd 2009
    Who: 163 on board
    Why: During an episode of turbulence prior to landing, a South Korean passenger’s seatbelt came off, causing injury. Several others also were treated for injuries resulting from turbulence, although the “buckle” light was on, and passengers had been belted in. The airline contends that the passenger’s seatbelt had been improperly fastened.

    The South Korean passenger’s injury was treated at the hospital.

    Who: The number of passengers on board is not known at this time.
    Why: Engine malfunctioned during take-off. The plane taxied to the gate. DAMAGE REPORTED TO RIGHT ENGINE FAN AND COWLING

    Alaska Airlines Flight Diverts to Los Angeles due to Odor in Cabin

    Alaska Airlines flight AS-1390 made an emergency landing in Los Angeles, California, on August 12th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from San Francisco, California, to New Orleans, Louisiana, was diverted after a strong odor was noticed in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and thirty-six people aboard remained unharmed.

    S7 Airline Fender Bender cancels flight

    An S7 Airlines Boeing 737 that was scheduled to fly from Moscow to Ekaterinburg, Russia, was on the ground packed with passengers ready to go when a truck collided with the fuselage.

    Thanks to the damage, the flight was cancelled.

    Passengers exited on to the tarmac.

    Porter Airlines Emergency Landing in Toronto

    What: Porter Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400 en route from Montreal to Toronto
    Where: Toronto
    When: Dec 3rd 2009
    Who: 52 on board
    Why: On approach to Toronto, about ten minutes before landing, the crew received indication of a technical problem.

    The flight made a safe landing with emergency standing by.

    Corsair Flight Returns to Paris Orly Airport due to Engine Issue

    Corsair flight SS-984 had to return and make an emergency landing at Paris Orly Airport, France, on July 23rd.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
