    What: Delta /Atlantic Southeast Airlines 50-seat CRJ-200 Bombardier en route from Columbus to Atlanta
    Where: Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
    When: June 11, 2009
    Who: 19 passengers and 3 crew
    Why: On approach to Atlanta, the left main gear failed to extend, in spite of extended efforts. After a partial gear landing, the plane ended up off runway 27 right. No one was reported to be injured.

    IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Port Blair

    IndiGo flight 6E 293 made an emergency landing in Port Blair, India, on November 20th.

    The plane was flying from Hyderabad, India, when one of the engines malfunctioned, causing the plane to tilt to the other side.

    The crew managed to level the plane and continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Foul Odor On-Board American Airlines Plane Makes Passengers Ill

    American Airlines flight AA-1927 made an emergency landing at Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, on July 16th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane was flying from Charlotte, North Carolina, when a foul odor in the cabin caused several passengers to suffer from nausea and headache.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. The affected passengers received medical assistance at the airport.

    The airline said the foul odor developed due to a mechanical issue.

    Aeroflot Flight Returns to Moscow due to Gear Problem

    Aeroflot flight SU-1384 had to return and make an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo International Airport, Russia, on October 12th.

    The plane took off for Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, but had to turn back due to a gear problem.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    US C-12 Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing at Fukushima Airport

    A U.S. C-12 logistics support aircraft, en route from Naval Air Facility Atsugi in Tokyo to Naval Air Facility in Misawa, northern Japan, had to make an emergency landing at the Fukushima Airport.

    The decision for emergency landing was made after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit. The plane made uneventful emergency landing at about 7pm on May 22.

    According to Daniel Sanford, Senior chief Misawa public affairs, “They did some emergency procedures and the smoke dissipated, but they asked to make a precautionary landing.” He also confirmed that none of the 6 people on-board were injured.

    The aircraft is being examined by the Misawa maintenance personnel.

    Smartwings Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Prague

    Smartwings flight QS-3179 made an emergency landing in Prague, Czech Republic, on April 9th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Tel Aviv, Israel, was on approach to Prague when the crew reported they had a park brake set indication.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and seventy passengers aboard remained unharmed.
